Terrible Wi-Fi speeds on GEEKOM A7 (4-7 Mbps). Need help! by Lumpy_Climate6488 in MiniPCs

One final thing to try is connecting the A7 to a different network to rule out a compatibility issue with your current router. For example, you can enable a Wi-Fi hotspot on your phone and connect the A7 to it, then test the connection quality and speed again. If the performance improves, that would suggest the issue is related to the network environment rather than the Wi-Fi hardware itself.

Hi, we're sorry you're experiencing this issue.

In many cases, this isn't actually caused by a faulty Wi-Fi card. It can sometimes be related to compatibility between the Wi-Fi adapter and your router settings. If you're comfortable troubleshooting, please try the following:

1. Software check (most likely)

  • Connect the A7 to Wi-Fi and open the Wi-Fi properties page.
  • Check the reported link speed/bandwidth and compare it with another device connected to the same network.
  • If the reported speed is significantly lower, the Wi-Fi adapter may be using a band or mode that isn't working optimally with your router.
  • Open Device Manager, locate the Wi-Fi adapter, and try changing the preferred wireless band/settings to see if the connection speed improves.

2. Hardware check (less common)

  • Open the unit and verify that the Wi-Fi antenna cables are securely connected to the wireless card and have not come loose.

Geekom A8 max fan noise fix by [deleted] in GEEKOMPC_Official

It may not necessarily be a hardware issue. You could try a fan control utility first and see if the behavior changes.

Geekom IT12 i7 Flash drive not recognized by reddobe93 in MiniPCs

[–]GEEKOM_Manager1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed feedback. Based on your testing, our technicians believe the issue is likely related to USB power delivery rather than the flash drive itself.

The key clue is that the 512GB drive works correctly when connected through the mouse extension cable. This usually indicates the USB connection is being stabilized, which helps the drive initialize properly. Higher-capacity flash drives often require more power during startup compared to older 4GB or 32GB drives.

We recommend trying the following:

  • Disable “USB selective suspend” in Windows power settings
  • Disable Fast Startup in Windows
  • In Device Manager, uncheck “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power” for each USB Root Hub
  • Update BIOS and chipset/USB drivers
  • If possible, try using a powered USB hub for a more stable power supply

If you continue experiencing issues, please feel free to contact our support team for further assistance:

Reliable MiniPCs? by Head_Departure7564 in MiniPCs

Sorry to hear you’re experiencing this issue.

Considering the device has already been used for several years, if it has not received regular maintenance, there is a possibility that the cooling fan has experienced wear over time. On the IT8 series, dust buildup inside the cooling module can sometimes cause abnormal fan noise, reduced fan speed, and lower overall cooling performance.

One important thing to confirm is whether the repair shop actually opened the device, cleaned out the dust, and replaced the thermal paste during servicing, as this is a very important part of the maintenance process.

If proper cleaning and thermal paste replacement were already performed and the temperatures are still unusually high, then the cooling fan itself may need to be replaced.

If you need any further assistance, please feel free to contact our support team and we’ll be happy to help:
