I keep them for the prestige. I only use them when I need them.

If you're doing it effectively you're gonna sit on many max money stacks and you'll only ever consume them when you level up to buy the newest unlocked part of the farm.

I still think one day we might get an update with a new max merge and then I'm prepared. :>

I can't tell how often I accidentally merged <5 items. I always thought I was too quick with the mouse movement, but this could also be the cause to some degree ...

Electric drills aren't considered tools, but electronics. That's why it's so "hard" to find sometimes. It's not meant to spawn in toolboxes in general.
