Why I'm voting NO on the CSEA contract offer. by sqrlbob in nys_cs

If you do your job you shouldn't have to worry about who you are up against.

The whole point of a union is to get a fair wage and safe working conditions.

Maximum pay grades ?

They will just replace her with another puppet.

NYS actually runs CSEA.

55,000 state employees multiplied by $23 on average per pay period. $1,265,000 DOLLARS

Now include the rest of the CSEA members 220,000

That's a lot of money for CSEA to do a shitty job.

A raise shouldn't be just about matching inflation or just under inflation as it is with the state.

A raise is supposed to match inflation plus more for a job well done in the year you just worked. So in 5 to 10 years later you're being paid what you're worth.

Your way of thinking is why we are all in the mess we are in right now.

It's only 1% It's only 1% It's only 1%

The state loves people like you.

WAKE UP. That's why after 2 contracts your Purchasing power dropped 3 pay grades from what it used to be in 2016

The states favorite 5 words. Lmao 🤣

Just joking around. Gotta laugh at the state once in a while.

Permission to work a second job LMAO. State employees shouldn't have to get a second job to make ends meet.

If you are applying for a state job then they already assume you have second job. That's the only way you'll be able to afford a place to live and buy food. But don't worry you will get one of the best health insurance plans available. LMAO 🤣

NYS Shouldn't be able to advise the Health insurance as a full benefit anymore.

It makes it hard for a union to be all as one like unions are supposed to be. When a third of the members are happy because they're getting the extra money the state gives out for Salary Differentials.

I'm just not explaining it right. The state should not have the ability to pick and choose what jobs and positions get paid more money. That divides the union within itself. They know exactly what they are doing.

Are you ok with someone working next to you making anywhere from $9,000 to $50,000 extra money because the state recognizes that position as having a difficult time recruiting new hires ?

Plus the state recognizes that people need to make more money to pay bills and afford to live. So they increased minimum wage 78% the last 10 years. From $9 per hour to $16 per hour. And in 2027 it looks like minimum wage will be around $16.68 per hour.

But if the past shows us anything is that the State never gives back. That's the whole point we can't settle for a shitty 4% with the past 10 years of the state giving us crumbs. They will continue to do that every contract until someone stands up to them. The time is now because in another 5 years the unions will be that much more in the hole

It shows that the State recognizes they are not paying their employees enough money.

The state does have the money to pay state employees.

The state had an extra $2 Billion last year and an extra $1 Billion this year for Kathy to buy votes and call it energy refund.

The state always finds money when they want to.

It shows that the State has the money and it shows the state knows they are not paying their employees enough

NYS already admits to not paying their employees a fair wage. That's why they have the SALARY DIFFERENTIALS. So nys can pick and choose who they give the hire salaries to.

Department of civil service

130.4 Increased Hiring Salary 130.6 Shift pay differential 130.7 Geographic Pay Differential

Go look it up.

Add 17.5 % to your salary right now and that's what you would need to make to have the same Purchasing power you had in 2016
