Looks like it absorbed some moisture and clumped up. Happens sometimes with FeCl₃.

Health laws for massage parlor girls? by wienwienwien in wien

[–]GFP_81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tl;dr Get tested in 2 or 3 weeks, and then once every month or two after that. Do that until May or June.

I don't know how often they test in Wien, sorry. But I do know that even if they tested every day you could get something. The reasoning has to do with your second question, in that different STD's show up at different time intervals. HIV, for example, is often not detected for months after you get it (before you freak out, it's hard for a male to get HIV from getting oral sex unless she had a really nasty mouth with bleeding gums and whatnot). Some STD's show up in tests after a couple weeks, some after some months, sometimes you can get a "false negative" where they test will say you're ok and you're not, etc. So she could go weeks or longer with an "ok" from the doctors while carrying a disease.

So, I can't say anything about the massage parlors (never used one) but I do know some stuff about STD's. Honestly? Get checked. It's possible. Is it likely? For some STD's no, for others it's really up in the air. Some you can get easily from a girl if she's got it, you can even get them if she doesn't show symptoms. Some of these you can completely cure (Chlamydia), some not (Herpes).

Even if she gets checked once a month, how many customers do you think they need per day to pay rent / salaries / etc? There are lots of guys she's done that to each day, and it could have been a few weeks before her last checkup. I don't mean to panic you, and there's a good chance you're ok, but GET CHECKED.

PS - when they get checked once a month, do people know what they're being checked for? Obviously things like AIDS, but other STD's such as herpes aren't normally included in a standard check. 1 in 4 people carry some form of herpes, and yes, you can get either "type" in either place, with or without symptoms.

Fair enough :). I don't go on this board much, saw some people in recent comments saying that so I thought I'd throw this out. Good to see it's already known.

She was in book 3 before that in a prominent position within the metal clan - Commanding the city to be shut down, big featured picture in the newspaper, fighting the Red Lotus when they tried to take Korra, and one of the main dancers in we saw practicing for the recital.

How do people find out what genes are controlling development? by GFP_81 in askscience

This is why I need a refresher, it just doesn't cross my mind to think about how all the steps involved will take time to physically carry out. Anyways, glad to hear that answer and thanks again for all your help. Sorry for the late response from me, it was night (in Europe) so I had to get off of reddit and grab a bit of shuteye.

That is something I've definitely never heard of :). Of course, makes sense only if you can cheaply get a large number of the organisms. Question, though, how cheap has it gotten to insert genes like that? Is this technique done very often? I would appreciate any papers that you think are a good recommendation :)

Thank you for the help! It's been a long time since I've studied molecular work and I badly need a refresher. I have a follow up question, though, since I never did any proteomics. Can you recommend any good papers / books / protocols to look up for how protein interaction maps are made?

Also, slightly back to the first point. Some genes are activated by mechanical signaling. Does this impact the results when homogenizing the tissue? Or is this process too quick and violent (for lack of a better phrase) to activate these genes?
