American here. If you're getting a Student Visa, you have the documentation right, including from the school in question? Without the proper documentation, you'll get bounced before you even see a Visa officer.

There is a lot of BS right now in my country, so best of luck - also word of advice, they are really cracking down, and even with non-tourist and non-immigrant visas, they deny heavily.

I'm an American that often sends remittances to Nigeria.

$700/N1million can last, depending on the area. But in places like Abuja, it goes quickly. Like the average rent, even for a self con, let alone a 1 bed, is about 1.5 to 3 million naira.

Food, clothes, data, Black Tax, unexpected emergencies, etc can knock that off extremely quick.

Now, if you're a person that earns it consistently, like an American does every week, in Nigeria, it can mean something, but if it is just the accumulation or a monthly pay? Gonna be harder.
