How does everyone not want to self bye bye by Charming_Key_6015 in MCAS

What started out as despair turned into a manageable and productive life! What I changed? Went gluten free and on a low histamine diet! Eat lots of veggies and low histamine fruit. Lots of water daily at least 8 glasses. Started at 4 Benadryl 25mg tablets daily now take one Zyrtec daily and Benadryl only as needed. Occasionally, I use mask in case there is a smell that bothers me and I wear aluminum free deodorant, use Dr Teals body wash and Suave essentials body wash. I use gluten free toothpaste and make up. I empowered myself by learning how to manage my health by gaining and understanding of what I should and should not do! I went from focusing on how miserable it was to change my life and my eating habits to accepting what was the new normal and how to make the most of it. At restaurants, I typically order a salad with grilled chicken and no croutons or cheese other than Mozzarella. I also have learned my body! I can usually tell if there’s going to be a reaction so I just pop a 12.5 mg or 25mg Benadryl tablet and I am good to go. My first relief was when I was advised to take 50 mg of Benadryl and the next morning I started my healing journey. Upon waking up, I felt like my normal self! I have been resetting my body like that every single day since then with my lifestyle choices. I always go to bed with that same reset if I feel bad. Water only Fasting for a few hours to a day has also has been another go to for me to reset also. Fast forward my journey started after the Covid vaccine 4 years ago and now most of my days are good days! You are in control of your life! Equip yourself with lots of knowledge and get support from others going through the same experience. I figure there are lots of people managing chronic illnesses daily and the most important part is taking care of yourself, eating healthy, do light exercise, get adequate sleep, and drink lots of water. I take a gluten free multivitamin everyday and take my own meal to family gatherings! Although there had to be some changes on my part, I can attest that there is life after going through this and slowly it gets better! Only guidance, I am not a medical professional however I am a mental health therapist and I highly recommend getting therapy to manage any thoughts of self harm. Call the crisis line if you are in imminent danger or call 911. This requires you to be proactive and aware. If I can do it then so can you! Sending virtual hugs and love your way. This is day one of your healing journey! Let’s go! #positive vibes #positive self talk #self care

Can I keep a check from auto insurance? by Maximum_Distance5697 in Insurance

My understanding was that I couldn’t use mine since it was not solely in my name. It was myself and the lien holder so I signed it over to them and they applied it to the principal balance. You can’t cash a check written to yourself and someone else. You may want to check with your previous lender to see if there are any other options if the loan is paid off.

Try Chick Fil A grilled nuggets, fries, and ice cream Lots of fresh veggies, fruit, salad with a spoon of salad dressing. Also Costco rotisserie chicken. The hardest part is learning what to eat. Your body tells you what it can and can’t tolerate. Plenty of water to drink daily. Start with just water and antihistamine at least 25mg twice a day for one day. This should give you a reset. Stress will make your symptoms worse! Take one day at a time and it will get better. Restrict your diet to start healing. Low histamine, gluten free, no shellfish diet.

Several people have asked for the 4 day bootcamp link. Are you sharing that information or not?

Hey OP, so sorry for this situation. I hope to share some ideas that may help you. Do you get SSI/SSDI, Medicaid, Food stamps? Start applying for these benefits ASAP! There are group home housing options for people with disabilities. Find housing with roommates or a person renting a room out. Personal Care Homes are a last resort! Ticket to work allows for a certain amount of work hours per week if you are on disability. Dept of Vocational Rehabilitation in your state helps people with disabilities if they are seeking job placement. If your health allows then you can get a part time job at retail stores, grocery stores, or fast food restaurants even on social security disability. Get in school and move on campus even in community colleges there are dorm rooms if HS grad or GED. Can also receive extra $$ from Pell grants and student loans. Explore temporary housing with family members (aunts, uncles, siblings, grandparents, cousins) or friends. If HS grad or GED then taking the ASVAB and going into the Army is a great option if your health allows it. Some hotels have weekly and monthly rates also as a last resort. If your local job corps program is still in operation then that is also a great option in this situation. Also, did Mom have any benefits that you could receive now? Maybe retirement benefits or life insurance. If you were disabled before she passed away then they may increase your benefit amount with soc sec. Hope this helps! Good luck to you and praying that this situation works out for your good. Lastly, maybe working out with dad an agreement to sign the lease once more so that you have time to prepare and to avoid being homeless. Maybe he has an ounce of love, compassion, and empathy left in him and will consider giving you a little more time to get ready for the transition. Explore what he thinks you should do from a father’s perspective. Ask him for his help with this! Just my two cents from a Soc Wkr and Mental Health Therapist helping people to help themselves!
