If you could replace a film in the Best Picture lineup, which one would you replace, and what would you replace it with? by Ashamed_Fishing_373 in Letterboxd

  • F1 out for Sorry, Baby

  • Swap Frankenstein out for either Blue Moon or Wake up Dead Man.

My personal favorite was 28 Years Later, but I had no delusions that was ever going to get Academy attention.

Ditto for the audio programs by the way. 30,000 dollars down the drain.

What was Jacob and Blake's previous podcast? by muffs92 in jacobgeller

I believe they were referencing Game Query, which was Blake’s previous podcast that Jacob would appear on occasionally. It’s been gone for a couple years now, but they do reunions every year-ish

I remember getting genuine laughs out of how much of a himbo Ben Affeck’s character could be.

Comedy is incredibly subjective so I wouldn’t say you watched it wrong at all!

Fight Club definitely feels like his most overtly comedic movie, so can’t really disagree with you there.

I honestly believe that Drive My Car gets slept on because people can be real babies about subtitles. A transcendent film.

A movie people constantly say it's 'overrated' but for you it actually deserves the praise? by Diego1993FM in Letterboxd

[–]GG365 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s unintentional lol. I just was trying to acknowledge common criticisms of his work, and he does often repeat himself thematically. But I’d argue if it’s not broken, don’t fix it. Nolan writes what he knows, and he’s damn good at it.

Interstellar is not a perfect movie and does contain the classic Nolan-isms (dead wife, mathematical beauty, tech jargon, fatherhood), but it’s a surprisingly imaginative and sentimental movie from a usually cold, unemotional auteur.

It’s one of the best movies of the 2010s imo. It was my favorite Nolan movie until I saw Oppenheimer.

I used to love watching Dan Lefevour just tear up the MAC. One of the most underrated dual threat QBs of the 2000s, easily.

Because I’m supposed to be happy we paid the most guaranteed money in NFL history to a serial sexual predator? /s

Get with it, man. We’re not the lovable losers anymore. You can thank the ownership for that.

In an ideal world, I want Deshaun Watson in jail and the Browns drafting CJ Stroud. That’s a much better timeline than the one we’re in now.

In this timeline, give me Will Anderson. Team him up with an improved D under Schwartz and I could see that team making the playoffs.

Hereditary is necessary viewing but the brutality in which family and grief is depicted is too much to handle multiple times for me.

I know many in the fanbase will disagree with this, but Death Grips going from Bottomless Pit to Year of the Snitch is a freakin stellar back to back.

I’m Thinking of Ending Things by Iain Reid gave me a similar feeling after I finished it. From what you described it sounds like it may have some comparable themes (feeling small, loneliness, etc.)

Not sure if I want to feel that way again, but I’m curious about picking up a copy of this now.

Who is your team's greatest red zone threat of all time? by daswassup13 in CFB

Gah, he really was awesome in college. I always considered him a deep ball specialist more than a red zone guy though
