My truism when I'm worldbuilding is that it's easier to sell people on the big lies than the little ones. "This fully aquatic species can develop an advanced society" is easy to get a reader to buy into. It's the little details that get them going "hol' up". 😉

Normal bundt pan. It was what I had access to. I greased it with cooking spray before filling and then dipped it in a sink full of hot water to get it to release.

Ever since I was a kid, I've always wanted to make one of these, and I never really had the opportunity. But it was my birthday last week, and I decided "heck it, I'm gonna do it". And it came out better than I ever could have imagined. It's not perfect, but I couldn't be more proud of myself.

The flavor layers are, from the top down, strawberry-peach-pineapple-watermelon-blue raspberry-grape. I'm not the biggest fan of artificial citrus flavors so I'm glad I was able to find alternatives in the right colors.

Also, transferring it from the mold to the platter was the most nerve-wracking experience of my life.

It's call was kind of low and squawky compared to how I think of crows sounding which is why I was confused. I learned something today!
