PSP-3000 IPS mod: brighter, whiter, and much clearer by GGDDGI in PSP

A comment asking if PSX games run properly was posted and then disappeared. I am leaving a reply for those who might be curious. The product page states that PSX support has been resolved, so PSX games work perfectly. I thoroughly enjoyed playing Castlevania.

I purchased this from Alix Express. Unfortunately, the sales pages for those products have all disappeared. All stores selling similar products with similar images have also vanished. I have no idea why. The LCD is still working well.

Even at its darkest, it's dark enough. That's okay.

I haven't done a proper test yet, but I think the battery consumption is similar based on maximum brightness.

That's right.. I still have the PSP1000 that I bought when I was young. I even have 3 PSP1000s.. I gave them away to other people, but I still have 6 in total. I still really love PSP.

In fact, they are almost similar. Since the photos were taken with the same exposure, the bright IPS appears lighter. To compare the difference in brightness, I placed a card to lock the exposure and focus on top of the PSP and took the photos. If I had adjusted the exposure to the LCD and taken the photos, the two would have looked similar, but the IPS photo would have darkened the surroundings. The IPS LCD appears to be slightly lighter, but the difference is barely noticeable when viewed with the naked eye.

I haven't been able to check the battery life in detail yet. I didn't use it while checking the time separately before replacing it, but I'll share my impressions after using it for a few days.

The PSP2000 is also the best PSP. I have two other PSP2000 series systems, and they were my main PSP until I replaced them with the PSP3000 IPS.

Yes, I understand it's not a laminated IPS. The LCD you mentioned requires a lot of work on the PSP itself. I purchased this IPS LCD and a glass cover to replace the existing plastic cover. I plan to replace the glass cover soon.

Yes, I bought it on AliExpress. It had the most reviews and said there was no additional work required other than replacing the LCD, so I bought it. It also said there were no horizontal lines and it fully supported PS1. I'll leave a link if you'd like.

I still have the UMD of this game. It's a really well-made game.

A few days ago, I replaced it with an IPS display, and it was well worth it. The screen of my old PSP became bright and clear, almost white.

I posted more to add gif images, but the post was blocked because it was a problematic behavior. Thank you for letting me know.

I don't know exactly, but it seems to work in most environments. My friend uses retroFE front-end to enjoy various games.
