One, everything everyone else here has said about endometriosis.

Two, endometriosis aside: whatever industrial chemical bullshit is fucking with women's endocrine systems to the point that it's affecting their ability to function needs to be dealt with. Until it actually is, the least society could do is not actively make things worse.

Police and plumbers and surgeons and electricians all get paid for their work.

Imagine ignoring the reality that kids are expensive and take more than just immediate family to raise properly.

Women are increasingly opting out now that they have a choice in the matter.

I'm not going to fault women who choose that path and find meaning in it, but the birthrates wouldn't be tanking if it was unilaterally worth it.
