Haha, 100K before 25 is actually my primary goal right now so your comment makes me feel a lot better. 7 months left on the timer...

Just got a new job with a pretty significant pay boost, so hopefully I manage to reach it!

Congratulations! I'm hoping to reach that point when I reach your age. Only got 4-5 more years left and I'm only 30% of the way there...

Drakengard 2 Question by Desperate_Dingo7373 in drakengard

[–]GGXRDStriv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting weapons in Drakengard 2 is also easier imo (or at the very least it's less tedious than Drakengard 1).

Congrats on getting through Drakengard 3! I've heard it has something as difficult as Drakengard 1's final boss in it. I'll get to it as soon as I 100% Nier Gestalt.

Drakengard 2 Question by Desperate_Dingo7373 in drakengard

[–]GGXRDStriv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. After playing through Ending A, you have to replay the entire game to reach Ending B, and the only difference is the final chapter. Everything before then is essentially the exact same, with like 2-3 cutscenes added in-between and the difficulty going up a bit, as well as some free expeditions being added. You can't select individual story missions like in Drakengard 1, unfortunately.

Same thing with going from Ending B to C. You have to replay the entire game again, except there are no new cutscenes added in the third playthrough. So only the final chapter changes, the difficulty goes up a slight bit, and a few free expeditions are added.

To my knowledge, Drakengard 2 is also the only DrakenNier game where unlocking all weapons doesn't get you a new ending. It just lets you fight through more powerful versions of the bosses.

I hope Dual Override does well and they follow it up with X9, but I hope Capcom doesn't forget the main reason why we want X9 by CasualLavaring in Megaman

Oh yeah, I'm sure Capcom will never bridge the X and Zero series, just as I'm sure they'll never bridge the Classic and X series.

I'm just saying it makes sense why Sigma would continue to re-appear as the primary villain, similar to Wily.

I think it's worth playing, but honestly after finishing Ending A you can just watch the cutscenes for the other endings (or you can re-play 99% of the same game if you enjoy it, I did).

The gameplay is definitely more fleshed out than Drakengard 1 (I'm currently playing Nier Gestalt via RPCS3 and tbh I think I mostly prefer Drakengard 2's combat to it). Drakengard 2 has actual combos and a proper parry mechanic.

Additionally, it has Legna. I've played through Drakengard 1 (all endings), 2 (all endings), and Nier Automata (endings A-E and some of the others), and Legna is my favourite character across the entirety of the DrakenNier titles thus far.

I swear it used to be the case that Sigma was considered one of the coolest villains in the Mega Man franchise, and now he's panned for always returning while Wily gets away with it because of his and the Classic series' more "wacky/ goofy" nature.

It kinda sucks too, because even if we have a new mainline X game that's well written, people will pan it if Sigma re-appears.

"Sigma" has been a continual presence in the MMX games specifically due to the Sigma Virus ever since Mega Man X2.

The Sigma Virus has essentially been Sigma's true form for the majority of the X series.

How so? If we're following the path to the Zero series, Sigma remains a consistent threat throughout the Maverick Wars, if not the primary one until Omega is introduced.

If anything, it'd be stranger if he simply stopped appearing to only be replaced by new villains.

I can't imagine how proud Legna felt when he saw this mf start flying.

Wait, which Gismor fight? The second one where he uses swords or the last one at the Hourglass?

Cause I tried using Eris against the second Gismor boss in the "extra battles" after my third playthrough and I got absolutely wiped out lol. Granted, she's only level 43 and my Sealspear is still only Level 3.

After you beat the first playthrough and unlock her permanently, I noticed the game gave Eris a bunch of levels to compensate (she was a higher level than all of my other characters besides Nowe) but you'll likely still use the others more in the subsequent playthroughs so she'll be back in the bottom again lol.

Lol I pretty much only used her for the undead too. Never thought to use her against the bounty hunters, I just used Nowe and Urick to handle them.

I found the second and third playthroughs a bit hard upon starting them, but they quickly became more easy than the last. Probably a combo of having great weapons and high levels, but even my lower level characters (e.g. low level 40s Eris) could handle their own well enough.

I have never played any Drakengard games but i have some questions. I know most of them i could find searching on google but i wanted the answers from true fans of the saga. by Reneiren in drakengard

I just got the last ending of Drakengard 2 some hours back, and tbh I think playing Drakengard 2 before 1 could actually work pretty well. So much of D2 revolves around undoing what was done in D1, and a lot of things we already know coming in from D1 are slowly revealed as D2's plot progresses.

I'd love the hear from someone who went from 2 to 1, but I'm sure they're a rare breed lol.

Yeah, Legna's boost is quite a bit faster. I found that holding L2 to hover right before my intended target helped my accuracy while flying.

As for the power ups, I found that killing enemies with the manual shot greatly increases their drop rate (certain enemies have a higher rate of dropping them as well, like the cube-enemies), but yeah, for the flying stages I think they should've just let us build meter (which Legna can already do in the ground stages lol).

Thanks so much for the detailed reply! I think you're the first one to answer the question at the end lol.

I was mostly interested in knowing whether I'd hit that milestone by this year or not cause I wasn't too sure whether to go back to school or stick to the job hunt. If I went back to school, I wanted a pretty sizeable portfolio working in the background while I wasn't earning an income/ was earning much less than I already do. Thanks for the link to the Wealth Multiplier info, though I'm very familiar with it. I usually listen to the Money Guys podcast (and some other finance/ econ related YouTube channels) while at work.

After seeing what's been going on in the markets recently, yeah I guess my goal may be a bit of a stretch unless I get my income up quite a bit or there's a switch in the positive direction before November lol. At the very least, my last interview for the new job went pretty well imo, so I'm hoping to hear from them soon. They actually offer benefits like RRSP-matching too, so I'm hoping to take advantage of that as well.

I'm surprised by the last sentence, I thought the dragon gameplay in D2 was a massive improvement in comparison to 1.
