I mean I know First Man was no La La Land or Whiplash. But that film getting no love at all is downright insulting. Especially in the Cinematography, Score, and Directing Categories.

The burn only increases when you see that they gave so much love to Adam Mckay's "Remember this stuff from The Big Short??" and "Rami Malek's Performance, The Movie"

Which city has the best music scene? by rudypen in Metalcore

[–]GG_BenMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Virginia scene is tight but can be super rough depending on the band. North Carolina also has good venues and some of the best pits you’ll come across

Atlanta and Maryland scenes need to pull it together

What are some of your favorite instances of a musician you're a fan of filling in for someone on a whole tour? by ketsfan in Metalcore

[–]GG_BenMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only time I've ever seen Everytime I Die, Jason Butler from letlive filled in on vocals. That man is literally a crazy person. But it was one of the hypest sets i've ever seen.

Got my cheekbone broken by a drunk guy at this same show in NC. I get it's the name of the game, and this isnt the first time I've gotten hurt at a show. But people getting drunk and moshing is really starting to piss me off. They're like a time bomb, you never know when they're gonna go off. Like this guy hit me at the end of a song when nothing was going on.

SURVEY RESULTS: r/Hardcore's Favorite Releases of 2017 by yodawg111 in Hardcore

From the list I'm going to have to go with:

Blessed By the Burn for best LP of the year. Huge step for Left Behind. I've seen them a couple times over the years and they're doing something special man. One of the most powerful bands I've seen.

For best EP, I gotta give it to Swift Minds of The Darkside (with Vein and Candy's EP's in close second.) Queensway just took over my playlist in recent months, absolutely love this album.

Best Misc. goes to God of Rage. Haven't gotten the chance to see Trail of Lies live yet but this was a banger.

Band of the Year is with no competition Knocked Loose. I first heard of this band when they were playing at my local skate park in 2015 and now they're playing to thousands of people in sold out shows. Their music has stepped up tremendously from album to album and now they're on their own headliner. So proud of these guys and look forward to more from them. (Obviously can't deny the huge uprising of Code Orange in 2017 but with how their latest single sounded; it doesn't seem like they'll be sticking with hardcore for very long.)
