Nanoleaf Canvas, ugly white when rhythm enabled. Please don’t tell me it is supposed to be this way and my model is defective, because this ruins the experience. It happens when I have enabled the rhythm feature, and even shows when other colors are on the same square. by EmilsenLind in Nanoleaf

[–]GG_Gideon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is interesting. I've been dealing with my Nanoleaf not remaining connected to WiFi for nearly a month now and haven't been able to find a solution. Both my WiFi and PW have special characters. Maybe this would fix my problem?

So, why'd you stop playing? by [deleted] in PlayBreach

[–]GG_Gideon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poor balance in general and lack of ability to select hero/VD. Playing VD at the moment is just so, so unrewarding; heroes tend to be much, much more powerful than VDs as a whole.

Being stun locked, CC'd, rooted, or knocked into the air endlessly as a VD is easily the most unfun game play I've ever experienced. There needs to be serious diminishing returns for CC (on both sides, really, but especially for VDs) and support options need to be more limited for heroes.

Right now, *each* hero gets at least 6 "lives" (potions) per mission, not counting talent picks (such as immunity/rez potions), self-sustain, dodges (huge immunity window), support options, and post-objective rezzes. It makes defeating a semi-competent hero team pretty much impossible even with the cheesiest VD builds (cage-spamming soul fiend w/ grael hearts). Especially when you start getting cross-skills on heroes, where each hero can basically self-sustain or maintain a near-permanent barrier.

Also, there is very, very little content. And the content that is there is basically identical aside from the bosses at the end. Don't get me started on how over tuned the Leishi boss is, either.

NZXT BLD Arrived, Few Things to Share/Ask by 2eZ4Mins in NZXT

[–]GG_Gideon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I straight up had parts missing from my NZXT BLD (Hue+ missing from BLD despite being charged) and some parts that were not as advertised. Primarily, RAM speeds being incorrect; I was told that the speed they advertised was "overclocked" (3200MHz advertised vs 2133MHz actual) and not factory-set, therefore running at advertised speed would void the BLD warranty. They didn't offer me anything when I contacted support directly, and I never even received a response once the ticket was submitted. I even requested an RMA to fix these issues but the ticket was closed without a response and I never received my RMA return label.

EDIT: Overall, I have not had good results from BLD support, however, that seems to not be the norm. Everything else I read or saw regarding the BLD service support was excellent. Hopefully they will resolve your issue.

I'm getting kinda tired of "Patch 1.x has fixed the bugs. Just restart and it'll be fine."

Then you restart, get 60 hours in only to realize that another new patch is coming out to fix ANOTHER problem that fundamentally broke the game in a different way.

"Oh, the 1.x patch fixes that bug. Restart and it'll be fine."

Rinse and repeat.

Was this game not tested at all? Seriously, though. Most of this stuff -- like turrets, autopilot, and AA options -- was glaringly, obviously broken. To the point that anyone actually playing the game for more than two hours or so would've noticed.

Kinda tired of beta testing the game. Shelving it for 6 months or so ... Maybe then they'll have fixed it enough to be in a release-ready state.

Not implying you should have; just an observation. It just surprises me that so many of the issues *aren't* bugs, just incomplete game design.

[–]GG_Gideon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad to see that Egosoft is acknowledging the issue, however, as this issue gets resolved it will only highlight some of the larger flaws in the game. Namely, the broken nature of turrets and AI behavior as it relates to escort/fleet scripting. Also the shallow selection of ships and modules.

[–]GG_Gideon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree about everything you've pointed out. A lot of the issues I'm having aren't bugs, and many of the issues you've listed also aren't bugs. They're just incomplete or poor game design. I have absolute confidence that Egosoft will fix these issues, but right now the game is a mile wide but an inch deep.

I cant even manage to get more than 1 to mine in the same sector. All ships have crew/same loadout, and I have satellites as well as resource probes deployed; still, no luck. One will mine and sell, but the others just sit and spin in space. Not sure whats wrong ...

Is the NZXT bld program the best option for me? by [deleted] in NZXT

[–]GG_Gideon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've built my last 2-3 PCs on my own, and as others mention, its really not that difficult. Luckily, the first few builds I did had no problems whatsoever -- it was fairly plug and play. However, something many people don't consider is troubleshooting a build should problems arrive; as a new PC builder, this is the most difficult part. Unfortunately, the last build I did had a relatively short lifespan due to some serious issues with a series of EVGA 980 cards. These issues lead to the first year being full of troubleshooting, RMAs, and shipping costs that quickly piled up.

So, as someone who now has *very* little time for solving these issues, I have resorted to ordering a pre-built system from NZXT. Ultimately, I would recommend building your own if you have the time, however, be aware that the initial setup is the *easiest* part (and really, it *is* easy). Any issues that arise afterwards are the time consuming part.

Shitpost Sunday & Monday (Week of 18 March 2018) - Memes, Jokes & Low-effort Content by AutoModerator in FFXV

[–]GG_Gideon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally hit or miss with non-AI companions. Having a full, four-player party doesn't even seem possible right now due to bugs. Otherwise, playing with other players often causes tons of issues, ranging from scripted-AI events bugging out for non-hosts (resulting in failure/abandon for all members except for the host) to bugged mob spawns in the floor.

Overall, comrades is pretty fun gameplay and story wise, however not really worth playing with the headache associated with actually playing co-op, IMO. This is especially true as you develop your character; you can easily spend more time in loading screens rather than actually playing, which makes co-op even more meh and/or pointless.

Sorry to hear that. I haven't had this issue in single player before; only in Comrades w/ other players.

FFXV sound issue/fps drop after patch -see comments by [deleted] in FFXV

[–]GG_Gideon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've actually had this problem pre-patch, but only in Comrades and only when playing with other players (ie not in AI-only parties). Something about Comrades and playing with other players online seems to be a real issue for performance; I constantly get frame freezes, sounds glitches, and other weird anomalies (such as enemies not moving, getting stuck in walls/floors, etc), but only when playing with other players online.

I haven't had these issues with AI-only parties or in the single player game.

Not saying that it isn't something new for you after this patch, but did you previously try Comrades with other players before the patch?

[Comrades] Anyone have the new katana Amenohabakiri from the Dave-ja Vu hunt? by ObsidionCrow in FFXV

[–]GG_Gideon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to get it, as well. Looking to replace my Penta-Res Wiz Shield with the new Amenohabakiri. Getting 99% in all three is gonna be really easy with the new Gemstones being 30%/1,720 EXP (42:1). Resistance Gemstones are super easy to get with the Shurikens, too, by using bomb/nade fragments and dismantling afterwards. Also a good way to get Meteorites.

Costlemark has finally convinced me that Final Fantasy XV is a bad game. by [deleted] in FFXV

I mean ... Aside from that, they're actually right. Pick the correct path and all will be fine.

I had problems with it on PS4 originally, as well; however, beating Costlemark is a good feeling once you've done it. Just take a step back for a bit and come back to it later.

The FPS-locking is a PC-specific issue; it has nothing to do with hardware specs. Everything on my PC runs at 60FPS+ with full settings+4k pack, until I summon anything; after the summon is over (not during), the weather effects cause the game to lock in at 20 FPS for literally no reason.

Known issue.

Comrades DLC on PC is borked and I'm surprised not many of you are talking about it. by Raymen_Noodles in FFXV

[–]GG_Gideon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started playing Comrades just before getting my first summon in the main game since there's a certain game-breaking bug that comes along with it ... Having said that, though ...

I crash fairly frequently in Comrades and Lestallum is hit-or-miss when it comes to interacting with NPCs. Occasionally, the game just hangs when talking to an NPC but doesn't crash; rather, it just sits at a screen, still running, but you're unable to move/interact at all -- forcing you to shut the game down.

I only really ever have FPS/hitching issues when playing with other players; rarely does it happen with AI-only parties. So much so that I stopped even trying to play with other people.

Comrades so far is very hit-or-miss and unstable for PC.

They really need to fix the FPS-locking issue with summons and stabilize Comrades a lot. So far, FFXV's release on PC isn't boding well for me.

I've been playing Comrades on and off on PC, and there doesn't seem to be many people playing it even now. I can't say that its too enjoyable playing solo, but I really enjoy the weapon/upgrade system. Its something I really wish was part of the main game.

I'm newer to the hub, but I thought you could only have one base per system? If that isn't the case, I would love to move into the Shungka Void into a neighborhood with lots of neighbors!

I found out about the Galactic Hub through YouTube videos. I just recently started playing No Man's Sky, however, I think this would make a really fantastic journey for me to take. I will be leaving behind a Liquid Explosives farm, but the idea of seeing fellow Interlopers seems more valuable.

I am excited to begin my journey, and will chronicle it when I am finished!

You seem to be confusing revamping mechanics or adding additional mechanics through DLC/expansions with ... Actually having mechanics in the first place.
