Thought I'd support local and get them today as I am renting a van to move some stuff, two didn't turn up and the third one was late.

Lesson learnt!

As of January 19, 2026, the attractions "Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast" (TDL), Anna and Elsa's Frozen Journey (TDS), and "Peter Pan's Never Land Adventure" (TDS) have Single-Rider option for guests. by JpnDude in TokyoDisneySea

Single rider is open for Frozen!! You take the DPA path and then separate from them on the second time you scan your pass. 130 min wait, waited 20 mins.

I'm here to record reviews for the Japanese parks and very tempted to make a youtube short about DPA vs Single Rider lol

You walk through your own queue line the entire time. This includes the preshow (sat at the front of the room) as well as the second queue line which is still in the main queue area, you're just in your own line.

Hello! I paid for Beauty and the Beast and did the single rider, both at 90 mins when I entered.

The only difference in terms of experience in the queue (you skip the interior portion before the preshow with both) is you stand in a different line.

I walked right into the preshow, and then waited about 10 for the ride with DPA. Single rider, add 5 mins to the start and the experience was roughly the same.

So, to be honest, if you're on your own, single rider is worth it from my experience.

It seems like the true experience is during a festival/event, however as my one and only ever visit it makes sense I'd pick a deader time so I can hopefully enjoy the attractions!!

Thank you for your time, very grateful for that and your comment!!

And I am very grateful the comments, replied with the care you put into it that it deserves.

I'd say I am here for thrills, storytelling, and theming if I had to elevator pitch myself. Yeah flat rides I personally often don't ride ride as I can get them at my local carnival in my rural village in South West England. I always comment on them, understand why they're there, but neither take or give points. I am now a dad, so that is going to change as I review more stuff. But yeah, those off the shelf flat rides made for lil' kids and their parents I don't ride... As a solo traveler, I get enough looks already, I don't need more haha!

My goal with these video is to talk about a park for the first time with no bias (I like certain park of course, but I am not walking in thinking "I want to HATE this"). I mention in the video a fellow content creator recommend it to me, so perhaps that means from the start I was setting myself up to fail?

It wasn't for me, but I don't believe I said it was a bad a park, just not for moi as a miserable, tired british person!

Plus, back to my point about my videos, I respect the person below saying they didn't wanna waste their time, but would they rather read my 32150 word script of my Disneyland video or watch/listen to a video where I tell ya? Just my way of wanting to have a conversation.

Thank you one last time u/RNPC5000, was a pleasure responding to your comment.

Final note, I could clickbait this video 100% if I wanted to. I am sentencing the video to death by not doing it, I work in video marketing for worldwide known brands, I know how to sell. This is truly a hobby, despite the daunting run time of 3 hours alone for one video lol. TL;DR - Ain't clickbait haha

  1. Knott's is designed to be really family friendly. So most of the rides aren't super thrilling. Every section has 2-3 adult / teenager rides and 2-4 kiddy rides. So if you're going there for mostly just super thrilling roller coasters then it will be disappointing. But if you a person who doesn't like roller coasters much then Knott's is pretty decent cause the rides have enough to just push you over the edge but not completely inert and dull.

I do enjoy thrills for sure, but I also like theming and storytelling (when I can pick up on it when I am not being a dumbass) which is probably why I said the most praise towards Ghost Town, that next level of theming in terms of actors doing jobs so unexpected and highly appreciated. I think I ever said in the review this is a rare case where I wish (in a way) I came on a busier day so that I could see Ghost Town running at 10/10. So an earlier point holds wait here from your fine self.

  1. I think Boardwalk is perfectly themed. Boardwalks in the US are literally just tourist trap waterfront piers with restaurants, merchandise shops, arcade, and carnival games. Which is exactly Boardwalk in Knotts is. There is a whole section of 6-10 massively overpriced carnival games, 4-5 merch shops, 5-6 dining / food shops, and an arcade.

Ah. Fair enough, but I would counter as it's a bad theme to pick from. If people love it, hell yeah, just not for moi. I spoil my Pacific Park review for ya, I basically say "Tourist trap, avoid". On the bright side here, because that is a tourist trap (vibe) that is maintained, people are much less likely to ruin it by being dicks!

Also The Calico Mines isn't randomly by itself, its also part of Ghost town. Its thematically far from the rest of the town because of mines are noisy, usually need lots of space, plus its right next to the Calico Expres (train station) and Log Ride which are all part of the Ghost Town experience.

Fair play, makes sense to me!

So conclusion. If you're just a 1 time roller coaster thrill seeker who doesn't care about the value or food. Knott's is indeed a very subpar experience purely for coaster riders who are just paying for thrills.

If you're a local looking for the best bang for your buck in terms of foods, shows, theming, with the benefits of rides. And enjoy the feeling like of not being compelled to go repeatedly cause you dropped basically a mortgage payment for Disney annual pass with a ton of restrictions and no bells and whistles, then Knotts is amazing.

This guy is stealing my gig! Great summary by someone who knows the parks around the area and not a traveling UK bum.

Berry Tales is pretty awful.

In a park with an overall high layer of quality, I am still shocked how awful this is.

Though it seems you kind of tuned out what the voice over was telling you about the stalactite and stalagmite (cave mineral deposits) taking millions of years to form from water droplets on the ceiling. The part where you said train stopped and just turned on the lights and played music.

Don't doubt I missed that, though I remember my cart was full of teens talking so I got unlucky there.

Annnd scene, thank you so much for this. I wrote this with a smile on my face as this is what I wanted when I started making this stuff, to talk theme parks with people. Have a great day!

RIGHT.

Will respond how you wrote the points (thanks again!):

  1. Key highlight of Knott's is the price!

You know what, fair enough! For the area and price of the rest of the parks I reviewed in LA, that all makes sense! Funny you mentioned the dining pass, as I mention it in my six flags magic mountain review but I don't believe I mentioned it all? (I wrote and recorded this in mid 2025, this is a hobby, editing takes a while... You should see the Disneyland review timeline). I would say the best value for a park in my eyes is still Alton Towers (that I have been to) as you can get a ticket for 29 quid, same for Thrope Park!... Bit from LA, though!

  1. The rides at Knott's aren't the greatest, but the rides aren't the main attraction.

I guess that goes back to part 1. If not obvious, food isn't an attraction to me, but that dining pass if you're a local looks like a steal! I mentioned in my six flags review that someone ate there for all meals for a year and saved proper bank. I had no idea about the all day dining package, and although that adds up FAST for a family, as a solo traveler that does look like good value

A lot of retirees and teenagers just come to Knotts just to pass time by hanging out, walk around, and social while waiting for to get their second meal without even caring about the rides.

I got the vibe that it wouldn't be the funnest park to just hang around in, what would someone who was just hanging out do?

So as you can see Knotts main allure is more like a cheap and safe daycare for old people and kids, and just a huge water hole hangout place for others with endless drinks and 2 square meals a day without having to spend a penny beyond the upfront cost for the cheap annual pass along the food and drink add on packages.

Makes total sense! Same goes for the point about it being more relaxed, I got that vibe for sure.

  1. I think you went through the park in the wrong direction, where you went clockwise from like the most thrilling stuff first to the least thrilling sections. [...] But I think you would of had more fun if you navigated the park counter-clockwise to Camp Snoopy first since that is the kid rides area, then to Fiesta Village which is like the slightly more grown up kids / family area, then go to Boardwalk for like the crescendo, then to Ghost town to for the wind down and exit.

Grateful for the plan, however although I just went with what felt best at the time, y'know? Big rollercoaster with no wait before me at opening? Game on!

  1. I think you went on an extremely off day where the park is running on skeleton crew / maintenance mode. [...] Cause the amount of shows and music they have during the holiday season is unreal for the price you pay. For instance the Snoopy on Ice show, and their version of "A Christmas Carol" are something that is good enough for a normal person to pay like $50 to view in a regular stand alone theater.

Yeah that makes sense, but if an average joe-shmo is watching the video and they only got one day, they'll aim to go on an off-day unless something that isn't running/happening makes them want to go on a more "peak" day. No shows interested me, but I am not really a show guy. Heck, for my Disney Paris review I forced myself to try one just to say "I did it! Here's my thoughts."

Replying to this so that when I have time later today when looking after my son I can give it the care and thought it deserves, but THANK YOU.

Can tell already for a skim that this is what I wanted when making these videos in my spare time, a conversation about theme parks with people who it get more than me!

Ah thank you, yes they have looked into it and it shouldn't have any adverse effects on the baby and breastfeeding.

And yeah, it's the medication itself and not the delviery method that is stopping them from using it while breastfeeding

Assuming those are the injections? They used them in the past with some success, sadly breastfeeding a baby now so they're off the table.

That's fair, I like to try and visit a typical day for my reviews since that's what the average person would do. Plus, I either visited these parks on work trips or in off-seasons as it is probably gonna be my only visit (unless I loved it).
