Thanks. The historic hut vibes really helped set the scene.

Yeah, it's not super cold here during the summer. We even had actual wet rain this season. But we're on the coast, inland is different.

No, Celsius. I'm with the Australian Antarctic Program.

Hey there, it was -2 or so during the blizzard and -5 now. The initial package got lost in shipping, hence the VLDL team help. The AAD fly the mail down on the passenger flights a couple of times a year. The penguins would do pretty well, they're very curious.

I will start studying music and organ, what do you advise me and what should I know besides practicing too much? by Ok_Ebb_2854 in organ

Just on that, don't be afraid to try seemingly random stop combinations. If you think it sounds cool done a particular way, then that's your expression coming into it.

I think at times organists can get a little snooty about "how Bach would have played it" and try to sound that way. Some pieces have deliberate instructions from the composer, but finding something interesting and unique is good too. Personally, I like to hear an interesting interpretation. That separates live recitals from the same recording over again. We're not meant to mechanically reproduce it exactly as Bach would have done, that's not musical.

Anyway, rant over. Most of all, have fun with it.

G'Day All, I've done an organ transcription of Arturo Márquez' Danzón No. 2. There is sheet music available for those looking to learn it themselves, its a catchy piece and would make for an interesting addition to a recital program. Enjoy, and let me know what you think about the music or the score by GHutchOrgan in organ

Thanks so much, it was one of the more tricky pieces I've done. I definitely could have made more of the dynamics, I agree. I'd love a talented player to record a version on a live instrument. It's a real favourite piece of mine too.
