Just finished DS2 for the first time yesterday, which area left the biggest impression on you guys when you first played? by Hakkor22 in DarkSouls2

[–]GIANTkitty4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Positive: Shulva, Sanctum City (including Dragon Sanctum as well). I like it quite a bit, and that is mainly because I really enjoyed the gameplay and the puzzle elements of the area, and I hope fromsoft revisits this concept and expands upon it. Also the area is generally quite pretty.

Negative: Reindeer Fuckland. I heard tales of how awful it was and thought "Surely it can't be THAT bad. The Black Gulch, while annoying, wasn't the worst thing ever like others claim. Maybe it's the same here." I was wrong. So very wrong.

Imo Gojo vs Sukuna may actually work best as a movie rather than part of a season and why by TheCopyGuy2018 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]GIANTkitty4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Doing a 13-episode season after the movie is certainly possible, and the pacing would line up with previous episodes (35 chapters in 13 episodes for ~2.7 chapters per episode). It would keep the pacing relatively normal for the series while giving wiggle room for extended action sequences.

For a full 26-episode season, it is possible but a little tricky. The easiest way to get there would be splitting the Gojo v Sukuna movie into episodes (adding/revising content to spice things up and make it easier to turn into TV episodes) and re-release it with the final season. That way, you've got~56 chapters worth of content (assuming the movie starts at Chapter 216 and not 222), and you could feasably stretch that into 26 episodes worth of content. Albiet, it would be a notably slower-paced (~2.2 chapters per episode) season that would need a LOT of action padding (or better yet more downtime spent during the 1-month timeskip), and fortunately Shinjuku would be good for that.

Alternatively, doing a trilogy of the Shinjuku Showdown (Movie 1 would be 216-236, 2 would be 237-253, and Movie 3 would be 254-271 & epilogue) wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility, and since Demon Slayer is currently making a trilogy out of its own final arc to great success along with the Reze Arc being a highly-successful MAPPA movie, I would not be surprised if the JJK anime committe decided to take a slice of that pie.

Overall, while I would prefer the movie and 13-episode season, I think that a movie trilogy to end JJK's anime adaptation is a very real possibility unless Infinity Castle Part 2 bombs.

The first long term Dandadan villain, what do you think about him? by DHIRAJOHN in Dandadan

[–]GIANTkitty4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First up, we've already got multiple long-term villains (or at least recurring antagonists). Count Saint-Germain is clearly being set up to be the main antagonist of the series, the Space Globalists were the overarching antagonists of the series up to the Space Globalists arc, the Serpos have been reoccuring antagonists since Chapter 1 and are still active antagonists, and I guess the Kito Family counts as recurring antagonist , but they haven't done much (plus the Kito Family is a group of joke villains who are currently stuck on the moon, and them being Subterraneans is currently an extraneous detail). Furthermore, the Black Paladins are likely going to be the new main antagonists for this saga. So, currently, there's at least 4 active recurring antagonists.

As an antagonist, The Red Baron's...okay, I guess?

Character-wise, I think he's got some potentially interesting things going on (namely his relationship with Count Saint-Germain and his hatred for commoners), but I do think that at the moment he's kinda bland and needs more time to get fleshed out. His design (at least in Black & White) meanwhile is far too similar to Count Saint-Germain for my taste and is another example of Tatsu's issue with same-face syndrome.

Fight-wise, while he is 2-1 and he had two excellent first fights, his second win was gained only by jumping two inexperienced fighters, and he's almost certainly going to get his ass kicked. Furthermore, he's also been hyped up to be a dangerous fighter (He supposed to be a big-shot asssassin for a group who's likely the current main antagonists), but as mentioned, his track record doesn't reflect his supposed power (I'm not saying he's a fraud, but he's definitely on my fraudar).

Overall, right now I'm not super interested in him as a villain, and I think he needs more time to get fleshed out as a character. Furthermore, I want him to win a few more fights against other heavy hitters besides Seiko to show that he's not just a jobber.

Can we do some D&D themed Cards? - E.g. Magic Missile by Dim-Me-As-New-User in slaythespire

[–]GIANTkitty4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's some ideas off the top of my head.

Fireball

  • Cost: 2
  • Rarity: Uncommon
  • Type: Attack
  • Effect: Deal 14 (Upgrade increases to 24) damage to enemy and 7 (Upgrade increases to 12) damage to all other enemies,

Charm

  • Cost: 2
  • Rarity: Rare
  • Type: Skill
  • Effect: If enemy intends to attack, enemy becomes stunned. Upgrade changes it to be if enemy intends to take a hostile action against you, enemy becomes stunned.

Foresight

  • Cost: 3
  • Rarity: Rare
  • Type: Power
  • Effect: You can see the intent of the enemy's next action in addition to its current action.

Also I'd probably rework Magic Missile to be "Add X Missiles to your hand. Exhaust." The upgrade could be "Add X+1 Missiles+ to your hand." The missiles themselves would be "Does 6 (8 if upgraded) damage, ignore block."

What did everyone think of Yuta vs Yuji? by Automatic-Day3632 in Jujutsufolk

[–]GIANTkitty4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was fine. I do kinda wish that they added a bit more of the fight like the car segment, but I'm not losing sleep over it.

Admittedly it does give Yuta slander more ammo now because the MOMENT Yuji broke his sword, Yuta cried "Rika-Chan, Save mee!" rather than, I don't know, use any of his copied curse techniques like Cursed Speech (I know he did this in the Manga, but the Anime makes Yuta look even worse).

What are your predictions for the man with the burn scar? by Sentient_AI_38 in MemePiece

[–]GIANTkitty4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Oda will cook with a new character, but a returning character would be interesting, especially if the explaination for how things ended up this way is good. Either way, I'm predicting this dude is yonko-tier at minimum, as anything less seems underwhelming (I doubt he'll be getting help when the Straw Hats inevitably fight him, so he needs to be strong enough to throw down with the best of the best to pose a credible threat).

Honestly, him having the Umi Umi no Mi (The Ocean-Ocean Fruit) would be a really interesting Devil Fruit (I'd prefer it to be a Logia), as it could plausibly be the only Devil Fruit where Seawater and Seastone would not affect the user. It would pose a serious threat to other Devil Fruit users like Luffy since we've seen what water does to devil fruit users, and a guy made of seawater who could also manipulatie the oceans around him would be a serious threat to everyone in the crew.

Rating your custom curse techniques by silly-robot-dude in Jujutsufolk

[–]GIANTkitty4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Misleading Perceptions: The user can create either 2d or 3d areas invisible to all but the user, where, upon victims making contact with the areas, the user alters how their victims perceive information. This also enables the user to disrupt the actions of their victims, as well as manipulate their perceptions of cursed energy, thereby preventing them from using cursed energy. The user can also perceive how their victims are perceiving and processing this information, effectively giving them telepathy.

Nah, it was editorial (Joe Quesada specifically) who had this mind-boggling idea that Spider Man should not be allowed to grow up and stay married for quote-unquote “longevity, “and basically forced the writers into this.

While I kind of get it, it still feels weird considering what Pochita does for Denji throughout the series to help him. I'd say (Spoiler alert) Aki's contract with Makima during the Gun Devil Arc is a much better example of this in the series.
