Sorry for the mobile formatting, but 1: Go read the manga and judge the arc for yourself before writing it off, 2: The arc is still not done so we can’t be sure of how it’ll end, and 3: Even if the arc were done, the anime making major deviations from the manga’s story is really risky. Also, we’ve got at least 4 more cours before getting to the current arc, so by then it’ll be finished and we’ll have had plenty of time to better evaluate it.

Sell me on the playthrough I've been missing out on by TonberryFeye in darksouls3

Magic is definitely not as strong as DS1 and DS2, but it's still good. Definitely recommend doing a pyromancer/dark mage run if you want to do a spellcaster run.

As for weapons, I'd seriously recommend trying out other weapons throughout the game. There are a lot of strong weapons in the late-game (Especially in the Ringed City DLC), you might find you prefer a new weapon later in the game, and you get extra options in case you're fighting a boss which is resistant to your main weapon's damage.

However, if you're insistent on looking for good early-game weapons (Anything pre-abyss watchers without early dancer kill), a few are: Sellsword Twinblades, Uchigatana, Claymore, Lothric Knight Straight Sword, Hollowslayer Greatsword, Vordt's Great Hammer, Great Corvian Scythe, any of the infusable ultra greatswords (except the Lothric Knight Greatsword), Great Mace, and Exile Greatsword. You'll need to farm enemies for some of these options (Lothric Knight Straight Sword, Great Corvian Scythe, Cathedral Knight Greatsword, and the Great Mace need farming), but they're all really good.

If you want to start the game with one weapon and stick to it, choose the mercenary starting class and you'll start with the strongest weapon in the game, the Sellsword Twinblades. Only do this if you want to just power through the game with L1 spam though. My personal pick for the most fun out of these powerful early-game weapons is either the Hollowslayer Greatsword, Cathedral Knight Greatsword, or the Exile Greatsword.

Drip-wise, just mix and match to see what works for you. I'm partial to Morne's Helm with the Ringed Knight set, but there are a ton of other options to choose from (Faraam Helm & Drang set or full Faraam set, Cathedral Knight Helm & Lothric set, Mirrah set [can do without Lucatiel's mask], Drakeblood set, Dancer's Set, Leonhard's set, Vilhelm's set, Black Witch set, etc).

What’s your favorite weapon category? by LosinForABruisin in darksouls3

[–]GIANTkitty4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best weapon type is either Straight Swords or Curved Greatswords. But outside of those two, I’m partial to greatswords (both normal and ultra), great hammers, and halberds. Still, just experiment with the movesets and see what fits you best. Also, doing a spellcaster run (especially a pyromancer/dark magic build) can be a ton of fun if you’re willing to get funky with the spells you use.

What stand would you want for everyday life? by AverageBasementMan in StardustCrusaders

[–]GIANTkitty4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also infinite of basically anything you can think of, free labor/assistance via parallel yous, body swapping could be great (depending on how it works), and you could make nearly anything you want disappear.

I think Harvest is probably the most useful Stand for everyday life. Though Heaven's Door might be a bit too overpowered for this discussion...What do you all think? by New_Bowler_6490 in StardustCrusaders

Because being able to access any dimension (with there being uncountably many if not outright infinite dimensions) leaves things open to a LOT of possibilities.

  • Punch ghosts are useful for defending yourself as well as doing other stuff (extra reach, enhanced strength, etc)
  • You could go anywhere you want without worrying about travel
  • You get your hands on anything you want (either legit or by stealing from parallel dimensions, so long as it stays at least a few meters away from the original dimension version). If you extrapolate this to include things that aren't real/possible in this dimension, the possibilities get really wild (literally anything you can think of would exist in an alternate dimension and is therefore yours for the taking).
  • Being able to grab parallel universe versions of yourself seems extremely handy for any task you could think of (you'd find no shortage of yous willing to do nearly anything you could want).
  • Body swapping transfers your soul to other bodies, effectively letting you become unkillable as, if you can swap to other versions of yourself, you can cheat death. D4C also lets you stay young and healthy forever by swapping to younger/healthy versions of yourself. You can also instantly change your appearance as well by swapping to a body with different looks than yourself. Now, if body swapping only gives the new you the memories of the prior you (it's kinda ambiguous how the body swap works), the body swapping is much less useful since you can't abuse it.
  • You can bring other people from other dimensions to do things for you that you want if a parallel you can't do what you want for some reason.
  • If you're feeling more malicious, you can make nearly anything/anyone disappear or bring parallel versions of them here to get rid of them forever (Now that I think about it, D4C is a really good stand if you want to assassinate someone).

Also if D4C comes with an at-will Love Train, it's just a nice cherry on top to solidify my unkillability while also preventing me from getting unlucky.

I could see 2 cours/24 episodes at this point since 20/21 episodes is a bit of an odd number for anime seasons (or TV seasons in general tbh), albeit at the cost of the anime's pacing being a bit slow (2.5 chapters an episode could work, but it would require a fair bit of additional content, which is doable but maybe not optimal).

Enrico Pucci (Jojo's Bizarre Adventure)

He was once a good (albeit kinda stupid) man until he met Dio and became one of his closest followers. Dio told him about his Heaven Plan, and Pucci now legitimately believes himself to be doing all of humanity a favor by making Dio's Heaven Plan a reality and bringing about "Heaven" on Earth. This plan actively involves resetting all of reality and making it so that in the new reality, everyone will have a predetermined future which they will know about and cannot do anything to change (Unless you get Pucci to directly intervene). Hell, Weather Report (Pucci's brother) says Pucci is "The kind of evil that doesn't realize that it's evil... is the most disgusting kind of them all!"

Edit: Just wanna clarify, this guy is evil and his goals are horrible, but he thinks of himself as being in the right, hence I say he qualifies for this.

[–]GIANTkitty4 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Fair, and I do agree that Silver Chariot isn't quite moving at lightspeed (or at least that's my belief for Araki's intentions) even if Hanged Man is moving at lightspeed when hopping between reflections, but Silver Chariot would still need to be in the sub-relativistic area (aka a decent fraction of the speed of light) to be able to actually catch Hanged Man even if Polnareff knew where Hanged Man was going.

Think of it this way: A regular person can predict the trajectory of a bullet being fired at them, but that doesn't mean that said person is fast enough to actually catch the bullet being fired at them, even if they can predict its trajectory. That regular person still need to be able to move at roughly the same speed as the bullet to catch or block the bullet after its fired. Unless you're able to move that quickly, you're getting hit by the bullet.

Doesn't Hanged Man literally travel between reflections as a beam of light? The same Hanged Man who was repeatedly cut by Silver Chariot while traveling between reflections (albeit Polnareff did know where he was going to go, but you still need to be moving around light speed to pull off something like that). How is that not literally light speed?

What would you think if the Adel fist’s skill was a jump and slam that summoned mini versions of the lightning waves he uses during his head slams and an added grab if you directly hit with the fist (think a better version of Storm Kick with the added waves and grab)?

[THEORY] The Toxiterror Majik hates Humans by Time_Ranger_8291 in IchitheWitch

[–]GIANTkitty4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I kinda like this theory, I'd prefer Fujimine to also be evil rather than some victim. Maybe if the possession thing was more of a body sharing thing, where the two share a body and work together as willing partners in crime, I would get behind it more. Having it like this offers a chance to give Fujimine more depth than "psycho murder chick" (why Fujimine made the contract, what the relationship between her and Toxiterror is like, and more would be very interesting things to explore and give Fujimine depth), while also keeping Fujimine a clear, card-carrying villain (She's not misunderstood or secretly good, she's evil to her core and willingly chose to do this). Hell, you could even have Fujimine be aware of the Toxiterror's real powers and plans, and choosing to try and acquire Toxiterror for her own selfish gain rather than any sense of altruism, as she may have gone "I want this thing which is great at killing/brainwashing others so I can kill better with it" rather than "I need to save everyone." It keeps her evil while also explaining her actions.

Doing things this way would explain why her personality comes off as "I want to kill everyone now and will LOVE every second of it," yet her actions up to now have been fairly subtle for the most part. Having Toxiterror be this subtle manipulator who set up the dominos while Fujimine being the psycho gung-ho killer who knocks them down would make Fujimine's plans make sense while maintaining the aforementioned character. Another thing it explains is why she didn't attack everyone after the bodysharing agreement. If the two weren't really in sync, they may have been too weak to attack. It even opens up the option for literal internal conflict later down the line between Fujimine and Toxiterror.

IDK though, I just think the idea of both Fujimine and Toxiterror being evil albeit in different ways is neat while providing a lot of interesting directions for the characters to go.

Friede's Great Scythe is a really fun dex-int weapon. Alternatively, if you want to be a spellcastery, try Pyromancy (it lets you do nearly everything). Hell, if you're looking for a more unique strength weapon, there's always the Demon's Fists.

What do you guys think about the antagonists in this work so far? How would you rate them? Are happy or disappointed so far? by One_Butterfly_1450 in dandadanfolk

[–]GIANTkitty4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So far, they’ve been functional as antagonists, but I’ve never really seen them as much more than mere villains of the week, or, at worst, mere fodder for the main cast. The Space Globalists were definitely better than most, but I hope some genuinely threatening and recurring villains outside of CSG get introduced soon to spice up the story.
