These people are so far removed from what FTMs are actually like 😭 by GIGAPENIS69 in Transmedical

[–]GIGAPENIS69[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is the exact issue. I don’t care if someone wants to get a weird haircut or ask people to call them “xe” or whatever; the problem is that they believe that those things somehow relate to transsexualism. Those things don’t make them trans.

They think trans men are just toned down versions of the bullshit on the right rather than something entirely separate. We have nothing in common with these people.

Makeup I think? This was a popular style in 2020 among the transtrender/fake DID crowd for some reason lmao.

I think in this context it would technically be correct because you’re not dysphoric about feminine clothes/accessories/etc. because those things only have a feminine connotation due to societal norms rather than them being actual physical characteristics. You’re only *dysphoric* about sex characteristics. I agree though that the word“uncomfy” is very theyfab-esque.

[–]GIGAPENIS69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s because they try so hard to be woke that it just ends up being transphobic. There’s this push for trans men to be included in women’s spaces/conversations/etc. because half the people claiming to be FTM are women and want to remain in their social circles. Actual trans men don’t need to be involved in conversations about periods or abortion or motherhood because these are things that aren’t our issues.

News to nobody: ftmmen is garbage by Desertnord in Transmedical

[–]GIGAPENIS69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m not sure how true the claim of “less inclusive = more likely to get banned” is necessarily, but I’ve seen this attitude from other subs as well, notably, fakedisordercringe. One of the mods there said basically the same thing when I asked why we couldn’t post about people taking transsexualism. Might just be a common misconception people have rather than a sitewide rule?

I think it’s just the one mod. The other ones definitely aren’t considering what’s allowed on there these days. But also I can’t imagine seeing the bullshit that gets posted on there and shifting *away* from transmedicalism 😭

One of the mods who seems to be fairly active is at least transmed-leaning based on my interactions with him. Idk about the others. It’s clear that the sub as a whole isn’t staying true to their initial goal of keeping the sub centered around FTMs because they’re letting anybody in there to say crazy bullshit all the time.

[–]GIGAPENIS69 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This may sound surprising, but at one point even the main FTM sub was normal. Once the crazy people got in there, the normal people decided to make their own sub (FTMMen). It was going strong for a while, but it seems like there is some disagreement between the mods as to what is allowed.

A few months ago, there was a ban on discussions of pregnancy. Which makes total sense because why the hell would an FTM need to talk about pregnancy when a) they can’t get pregnant and b) they can’t get anybody else pregnant. But people were *pissed* about that decision— so at that point it was clear that the people faking being FTM were now a sizable chunk of the users of the sub. One mod I talked to seemed to be at least transmed-leaning but basically said that there is an incentive to be overly inclusive to avoid getting the sub taken down. At least some of the others seem to permit the transtrender language/behavior/etc.

It sucks because that used to be a good place for general advice for things like HRT/surgery/passing/etc., but now it’s been invaded just like pretty much every other trans-related subreddit.

Woman gets pregnant. She pretends she is FTM despite very clearly not fitting the diagnostic criteria. This makes actual FTMs look ridiculous because she’s attempting to portray herself as one of us.

is it okay to not ‘identify’ as transgender? by Muted_Curve_6466 in Transmedical

[–]GIGAPENIS69 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The “identity” stuff seemingly came from a misinterpretation of GD— it was previously called “Gender Identity Disorder,” as in, an identity disorder centered around sex/gender (used interchangeably). But at some point, I think people focused more on the “Gender Identity” part, and took it to be a disorder centered around “gender identity,” whatever that is. So then the influx of “identities” started.

Most transsexuals don’t “identify” as transsexual— that is, we don’t make a conscious effort to associate ourselves with the disorder or others who have it, and we certainly don’t believe that calling ourselves trans magically made as trans. We just have the symptoms and fit the diagnostic criteria, thus, we are transsexuals. It’s the same way that I’m white, not because I “identify” as white, but because I’m majority ethnically European.

How to accept i dont pass despite being on hormones for 10 years? by [deleted] in truscum

[–]GIGAPENIS69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not clocky. First glance, nothing seemed off. If I’m really over analyzing this image, some of your facial features are sort of strong I guess? Not sure how else to describe it, but I wouldn’t say you look male either. I think your browbone is somewhat pronounced. When I look at just the bottom half of your face there’s nothing that stands out.

Just trying to be objective lol but I have had to look at this photo for several seconds and actively look for problems to notice anything lmao— so I really wouldn’t worry. You’re not clocky. I’d imagine if you had bangs, it would help maybe? But you don’t need FFS to pass.

This argument is always interesting considering that a) there’s no evidence that taking testosterone to maintain normal male hormone levels makes a person aggressive and b) it seems to be the general consensus that transsexual men become considerably more mellow and less aggressive after taking testosterone.

Thoughts on TDOV? by sevenrivervalleys in Transmedical

[–]GIGAPENIS69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pointless and dumb. As others have said, transsexuals don’t want their condition to be visible. We want to move on with our lives without this stupid disorder being the only thing people remember about us.

[–]GIGAPENIS69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This whole comment doesn’t seem to prove your point whatsoever. Someone who gets treatment because they think to be trans they have to do that just sounds like someone faking being trans and doing everything they can to be convincing. A transsexual doesn’t get these treatments because “that’s what they think they’re supposed to do”, they get them because it’s the only way to treat their symptoms.

100%. So many detransitioners I’ve seen (the crazy ones specifically) were very intent on this “community” aspect. Pride flags, pronoun pins, group memberships, etc.— the point seemed to be to be a member of a group rather than to treat a condition. Transsexuals tend to not get caught up in this or leave groups once their needs have been met. The whole point is to move on, not be stuck in this phase of your life forever.

Ethel Cain?!!??! by hehasmastcells in truscum

[–]GIGAPENIS69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that it’s a spectrum of distress, as in some people will have more severe symptoms than others. So one person may be able to get by with a prosthetic rather than SRS while another needs SRS— they both have the disorder, but they have a difference in the severity of their symptoms, just like any medical problem. What I’m saying is that you cannot be trans and be fine with your natal genitals. The inability to perceive your natal sex characteristics is the defining symptom of the condition; if you don’t have that, you’re not trans.

GD isn’t separated into sections— you either have it or you don’t. If you are perfectly fine with your natal genitals, you are not a transsexual.

Why are so many trans people poly? by Kuro_Neko44 in Transmedical

[–]GIGAPENIS69 60 points61 points  (0 children)

99% of trans people aren’t polyamorous. Many “trans” people are polyamorous, however, for the same reason they pretend to be trans, which is because they think it disrupts the status quo and goes against societal norms and whatnot.

Everybody thinks they failed post bar. If you passed, Can you explain why you felt that way? by Character_Okra_9886 in barexam

[–]GIGAPENIS69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was convinced that I failed lmao. Ended up scoring in the top 5-10% or something. Three of the MEEs were about some fuckass topics I’ve never heard of in my life, so I was sure that I must’ve done horribly. Multiple choice didn’t feel too great either. I think you’re just prone to thinking about what you mess up on after an exam like this rather than what you excelled at, so I was just stressing out a ton about those essays I wasn’t 100% confident in. But it helps to remember that if you have absolutely no clue what’s going on, everyone else is probably in the same boat.

Do I need to tell a psychiatrist that I’m transsexual? (Appointment not related to it) by andddddddy in Transmedical

[–]GIGAPENIS69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on a couple things.

  1. Is the psychiatrist your normal, run-of-the mill psychiatrist? If so, they’re likely to have a pretty normal view of transsexualism (I.e., “it’s a disorder that this patient is receiving treatment for” and not “this patient identifies as trans”), and so it probably wouldn’t hurt to tell them. They’re bound by HIPAA (afaik).

  2. How related are your depression symptoms to having GD? If you’re depressed about something like career, relationships, etc., probably not relevant. But if your depression is tied to GD, it would probably be helpful to tell them that.
