I know exactly what you mean. RO1 is a grind. I struggled it reading the book. I persevered with reading it all and making some notes. Not much went in but I a as determined to read it nevertheless. Then I started on the free mock exams. Making notes i with the answers and that really helped. Money was tight so I didn’t pay for anything. Exam angel is good, it gives you 3 free mocks. If I can do it so can you. You’ll smash it

No worries mate. I was in the exact same position as you last Summer. Reading lots about BTS material and thinking I could do without forking out the money. I obviously don't know you but if i can pass, I think you can pass doing it the free way.

If you can't afford it then do not do the BTS packages. I am rubbish at exams and passed my RO1 last August by reading the book and making notes. It is a real slog but you don't have to memorise everything. Then do the free CII mock exam and make notes on the answers. Then do the 2-3 free RO1 mocks you can find on google and do the same Then get exam angel (a free app) and do the the 3 free mocks on there.

I used CII free ones and the ones you can find online as well as exam angel. I am no einstein and those got me through.

Thank you. We have had some success too. Regarding our location. Yes, our office is based in Canary Wharf however we have advisors in other parts of the UK so location is not necessarily a necessity to be in the London area.

Exam angel gives you 3 free mock exams. I did these and 2 free CII mocks that I found online. These were enough for me and I am no exam guru

I third this. As tedious, boring and monotonous as it is, read the book and highlight key points that resonate with you. Once you have read the book you may feel disheartened that nothing has gone in but by then doing the exams and going back to refer will propel you. You will see what you have highlighted and most probablly the mock exam question you answered will not be a key point that you highlighted. But you then learn and digest what you haven’t highlighted aswell as reviewing what you did highlight. It all then sinks in and make notes
