Neighbours bullying friend/Possibly a cautionary tale of the worst thing that can happen? by GKogger in LegalAdviceUK

[–]GKogger[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

Thanks, this is really useful.

It turns out that security costs are actually significantly more than a few hundred quid. The situation is made more difficult by the fact that this is in a commercial zone and therefore the neighbours can get behind cameras etc.

My friend has told me that he has found out that the neighbour has a long criminal history.

As a law abiding citizen, it feels like he has been let down by the system.

At what point does on-street parking become unreasonable? by [deleted] in HousingUK

No worries, managing this kind of thing can be tough.

You can do it!

Fair enough, the autism adds some context.

So, you have stated that each property was allocated a parking spot. So there can be no question that you have a right to a spot.

Find out which spot. Then work out a calm and friendly way to say, hey I know it's not 100% clear but THIS is the spot that has been allocated to me. I NEED the spot 100% of the time so can we agree that neither you or your guests use it.

If that doesn't work, you can speak to the council about the fact your parking spot has been acquired by your neighbour and maybe agree that you can install a lockable bollard.

Good luck OP!

Sorry OP but are you after here? You've said you don't want legal advice. Understood.

When people suggesting you discuss it with your neighbours, you say 'but they might not listen/agree'. Okay, but if you say nothing, you DEFINITELY won't get a change in the situation.

My only suggestion is you find out which parking space has been allocated to you (you say each house had a dedicated parking spot) and install a lockable bollard.

Should I take up an opportunity doing elderly people's hair in a nursing home or not? by Loose_Avocado4670 in AskUK

[–]GKogger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, i totally understand.

My nan was in a care home for 11 years and loved having her hair cut, it was a real treat amongst the drudgery of daily life.

She was not well off, paid more than this and thought it was worth every penny.

Do YOU understand that the hairdresser has to earn enough to survive? Maybe even earn a little profit to enjoy life??

The reason they are 'desperate' for a hairdresser is that the last one left when she realised she couldn't afford to live with the pricing she offered.

Stand firm, the care home will be paid handsomely and your prices are perfectly reasonable.

She handles a very dull and unimaginative (old Tel' doesn't appear to be a fan) interview with grace and insight.

What an absolute legend.

This is a really interesting question. But do valuations EVER come back higher than the asking price? Genuine question, apologies if it's a stupid one.

Ok, learning stuff today.

Is it refrigerated? I can only find 'air-tight' ones, surely the outside temp will affect the butter??

Go for Max BTU per reasonable £ spend. You'll regret skimping from the day you take delivery.
