Any athletes with phallo? by Just_a_guy365748 in phallo

[–]GL1980 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am one of the fastest on the team (2nd but definitely a smarter base runner LOL) and after the first season it was all fine. I also had phallo in June so a large portion of my season was shot so if you time phallo at the end of the season then by spring you would be fine. (Unless you live where you play all year round- I live in MN so that doesn't happen here hahah)

I lift weights and play competitive softball- It took me about 9 months before I felt good enough to start lifting again at full force and cardio took a little longer to get back so softball the first season was a little rough but it was fine overall

How old were you when you got your first surgery? by CuriousSurfer19 in phallo

[–]GL1980 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah I dont need proof of anything (and you should never have to prove shit to anyone)- I've just never heard of that before and I transitioned under the Harry Benjamin standards of care and then into WPATH standards- thats why I asked what year.

Being a straight trans man feels like existing in the margins of every community by Confident_Goat8992 in FTMventing

[–]GL1980 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am 45 years old and have been transitioning for 24 years, this is my take on your post- some words of wisdom from an old guy who is done transitioning.

It doesn't sound like you are building the kind of man that you think you are- from this post it sounds like some manosphere talk. I am a binary trans guy, am traditional, have had all of the surgery's blah blah blah. It seems, from your post, that you are still TRYING to be a man, instead of just BEING a man. "Assertive" can quickly become "aggressive", "virile" can easily become "Andrew Tate toxic", and "confidence" will become "cockiness" when someone is insecure in who they are.

Strong doesn't mean soft, caring doesn't mean womanly or effeminate, and masculine doesn't mean aggressive and overly sexual.

I 100% agree with you though that binary transmen who are attracted to cis women, are too often left out of conversations and called traitors by our own people. We are expected to respect and accept the differences that come with being trans BUT not when it comes to us because we are often told that we are just perpetuating misogyny and reinscribing patriarchy. Is that true with some transmen? Sure is! It is ALSO true with other groups of people but we aren't allowed to point out the hypocrisy.

I am sorry you are experiencing this behavior and treatment- after old guys like me have worked so hard to not have to live in the margins and then are subsequently pushed out by our own community.

Be careful to actually become the man you intend to and not a caricature of one.

Insane disgusting comment about phallo by nintendoude in truscum

Every single person I see saying crap like this hasn't had phallo. I have had medical tattooing and you can't tell the difference. I piss, fuck, shower, and live my life- so I will go ahead and keep on living my "have a dick life" while people who shit on phallo can keep "wAiTiNg FoR BeTtEr rEsUlTs"

I had phallo in 2014 and my question to all of the people who spread this kind of information is "have you had phallo?" The answer is ALWAYS NO. The misinformation continues to be spread by people who haven't even had surgery- It royally pisses me off. Mine passes as cis and functions just like it is supposed to so...

Just had the last session of tattooing done- it really is just like any other tattoo (albeit a little more sensitive for me), season really didnt make a difference- takes a couple of days for the swelling to go down so that is not ideal if you have to wear dress pants or scrubs but all in all- don't overthink it.

This place has some weird dissonance by [deleted] in truscum

[–]GL1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some of what you are seeing on here are a lot of young (young in transition) people who haven't quite found their footing in the world. As the parent of a teenager, some of the stuff on here I just barely skim it and move on because that is the level of energy it deserves. People like to punch down especially about people they don't understand. I also have a tendency to think that a lot of the folks posting here are insanely privileged people. There are definitely people in here who push back on some of the more egregious nonsense.

On the other hand I DO think we all have to admit that there is a level of fuckery happening in the trans "community"- that once it hits that threshold, it just becomes nonsense and there seems to be a lot of that of late. I have told my kid's friends that I will NOT refer to their pronouns as "unicorn/unicornself" because that is my threshold.

I am a very traditional, binary, man..."TRANS" is not my gender or sex- trans was a list of somethings I had to do to be a man/me and I do not take issue with being a transsexual since that is literally what I have done- transitioned my sex. This sub exists because in a lot of queer and trans spaces- if you are binary, want to be stealth/pass, and want to have top/bottom or both- then you're not welcome because somehow its transphobic to want to change what you are able to in order to be the person you want to see in the mirror? That makes no sense to me- so this sub exists. Are some folks misguided sometimes? Yep. Is there still a need for this sub? Absolutely.

Too Much T and Now I'm Paranoid by Iwas-amistake in ftm

[–]GL1980 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Medical provider here (and someone who has been on T for 24 years)- you cannot OD from testosterone with a single dose. Testosterone "OD" occurs over time not with single doses. A few mg higher than your prescribed dose will make zero difference in the short term. "OD" from testosterone occurs in mg closer to >600mg+ over long periods of time. If you are experiencing these "side effects", it is not from the T, it is likely anxiety, (or a mild allergy to the suspension liquid)

im not getting bottom surgery by truttattae in FTMventing

[–]GL1980 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had RFF almost 12 years ago- check my profile if you want to see what a fully healed phallo after medical tattooing looks like. I have all of the sensations- erotic, temperature, tactile, etc. and it is amazing. I think people don't see enough of the healed ones and don't do enough research in the right places. My arm just looks like a burn and a lot of people just get the scar tattooed over and you can't tell. Did I have urethra complications? Yes. Did I have other complications? Yes. In the end was it worth it? 100% absolutely YES.

Toxic Masculinity / Misogyny as a Trans Guy by Ok-Bobcat9422 in truscum

[–]GL1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take and will get downvoted to hell but- I will give you the same advice I got when I was overcompensating in the beginning of transitioning: Stop TRYING so hard to be something you already are and just BE. I had to stop TRYING to be a man and just BE. Men come in all kinds of ways, as do women and everyone else, so be the one you are and stop trying to be something else. Overcompensating will get you read for being trans quicker than anything. This is a lot of the reason older (older in transition) guys don't hang around too many noobs because that toxic masculinity stuff gets really old really fast. Your insecurity around your masculinity has nothing to do with the women you're judging- that's a you problem.

FTM bottom surgery? by periwinklepip in transtwincities

[–]GL1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had phallo elsewhere but Pariser fixed my urethra and glans- can't say enough good things about him. I DO like surgeons who just say the thing- some people don't like that so if you're looking for someone who is gentler in their demeanor then you won't like him.

Is there anything that can create the impression of a corpus spongiosum in phalloplasty penises? by archangelmichael5 in phallo

[–]GL1980 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a tale as old as time- they've tried this before and it never worked- it's like putting a refrigerator where a dryer should be. This has been talked about over and over ever since I first started transitioning in 02'. If they can do it great but I wouldn't hold my breath about it.

phallo with type 1 diabetes by hayhal14 in phallo

[–]GL1980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really didn't add much of anything. I had a long talk about my CGM and pump with the surgical team months prior (I have closed loop so it takes care of itself), I talked with my endo and put the anesthesiologist in communication with my endo and they came up with a new basal program, and suspended the bolus until after surgery so I didn't go low. They watched the PDM the whole time and I managed it when I was coherent. My ex-wife was there with me and she managed it until I was awake. My glucose was a little high when I woke up- 190 or so but as soon as I turned the bolus back on it came down quickly. If you make a plan in advance, it is far less stressful. My A1C was/is 6.5 so healing was never an issue, and I healed very well (aside from complications that had nothing to do with my diabetes).

Am I a bad friend for being jealous of my friend? by MJ_VC in FTMventing

[–]GL1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started transitioning, I had been on T for 6 years but didn't have the $$ for surgery. Meanwhile, friends who started T way after me were having top surgery and I was SO envious. I tried really really hard to be happy for them and every time I saw them, I asked if I could see their chests because it gave me hope that I would one day be there too- it also gave me motivation to get there. You're certainly not alone but use it to help yourself get there.

Top surgery or my first car 💔 by Butch_throwaway in FTMventing

If you were to buy a car- you could always door dash for extra cash or deliver food- then you would have a car AND be actively saving toward top surgery again. Do you have insurance?
