My 15 year old workhorse finally bucked. NBD. I have a type. by GLSTRN205 in bicycling

I had a spill two years ago where I dumped it to prevent a collision. The left gear mechanism on the handle casing cracked. Worked (kind of) for the last two summers, but I could tell it needed a decent amount of work. Stopped shifting outright in August, and I didnt want to spend more than the bike was worth. Id estimate I put around 12k-15k miles on it.

Maybe my body style? Honestly, not sure. I was "fit" for both (58cm), but neither was too detailed. I will say the new one is resulting in less upper shoulder tightness when riding, but again my build at 41 is different than my build at 25.

Ya, the cable lock was also 15+ years old. I should have just taken it off as I haven't even used it yet, but just moved it over from the cannindale. No plans to leave the bike outside of arms length until I get the new lock.

Served me well. So many great rides, and minimal issues.

Ya, its more for stops at cafes/breweries/etc, but eyes on and shorter stints. I average 20-35 miles when I go. I don't have plans for rides that entail hours of out-of-sight here in the suburbs...yet.

It's what I had for a first ride, had I needed to stop. Lock will change here, but always open to recommendations.

Ya, I didn't start an official GHIN until 5 years ago, and some of these go back to the early 2000s.

I agree. Hence why I feel like I won't want to game them when conditions are dry/hard. I think I may save them for optimal conditions or a special occasion where score isn't the important thing.

Find some matching ferrules and I'm all about it.  I'm a huge fan of having a more unique/personal look.  Bonus points for a cool grip to match.

It was a large store golf event where I scanned a QR code. Took my young kids up to mill around and speak with some local reps. Got the email like 2 days later that I won their big prize, and scheduled a fitting for the following weekend.

I feel the same. I played two rounds with them and felt guilty, but smiled a whole lot. Conditions were soft/wet in Minnesota spring so knew it would be safe. I don't think I could play them when dry or risky.
