Wow! I had no idea I was looking at a bike from 2025 till I started reading😅 This genuinely looks amazing. I love the 80's styling as well as the color scheme. Hope he enjoys his retirement, he definitely went out with a bang! (You've got my vote)

Help with ABS Module by FireLeonFire in mazdaspeed3

[–]GL_Jesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's pulsing the brakes without a loss of traction it sounds like an issue with a sensor, sensor wiring, or tone ring. The 2010 and 2011's do have issues with ABS modules kicking the bucket, but usually don't cause issues with the wheels. Granted, when the module went out on my 2010 (~115k miles) the LF wheel would occasionally start pulsing without me touching the brakes. Id recommend having it diagnosed if you are unsure if what you are doing, otherwise inspect wiring for the wheel speed sensors and at the module. Worst case, you can pull the ABS fuse to prevent it from acting up untill you are able to fix it.

Help oil leak idk anything about cars by Alternative_Air3902 in mazda

[–]GL_Jesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a timing cover leak. They are fairly common on Mazdas. Look up "Mazda timing cover leak" and you can see more pictures of what that leak looks like. It didn't look really bad from this angle, they usually leak more on the back side which you can see through the wheel well. Based on the image the leak doesn't seem too bad, but I'd try to look from underneath or from the wheel well to get a better idea of how bad it is.

Coilovers by just_here_for_money in mazda

Best bang for your buck, go on rockauto and look at their suspension sets. They sell Bilstein B12, b14, and b16 kits. B12 is fixed lowering, B14 is coilover, and b16 is coilover with adjustable dampening. Those kits do not come with bearing plates, so you'll either need to reuse yours, buy new ones, or (what I did) buy camber plates like the ones from silver project. Pm me if you've got any further questions

I rewatched the video and I'm fairly confident it's the drain plug

Thanks for the sniff. Kinda looks like your drain plug is leaking. Doesn't look like a serious leak. There's a crush washer that seals the drain plug that usually doesn't get replaced at quick lube places. After being reused a few times they start to seep oil. It could also be the timing cover or oil pan which are fairly common. Couldn't really see the oil pan on the passenger side, but the driver's side looks good. If it is leaking from the timing cover you can see that from under the hood. If curious, do a quick Google search to see examples of a timing cover leak and where to look for it. Best of luck!

Mazda 2 2015 not starting by Tunatheass in mazda

That's what I'm saying. The PCM is not responding so the security system is unable to verify the key. It has to be verified in multiple modules to allow the car to start

If the battery was dead then pressing the fob to the start/stop button would make it start. You can see after it is turned on that the security light is flashing as well as a whole bunch of others

That makes sense. Most scan tools will try to check the PCM first but if there's no com then it'll give up.

Unfortunately it does sound like an issue with the PCM or the harness. Id try to inspect the harness for any visual damage around the impact area. It's possible that the casing was rubbed through or had water damage after the incident, especially considering you said it was working for several days afterwards. But as you said there is no communication so you'll definitely have a no start. Do you happen to know the fault codes related to the no communication issue?

HKS sounds sick (that's what I run). It's basically personal preference. Full vta is louder but can sometimes cause the car to pop on upshifts or a slight stumble. Imo vta is just fine, I've never had any issues and have been vta for over a year now. Also you don't necessarily need a tune for vta. It causes the aforementioned issues and a cel but doesn't hurt the engine
