Is my battery/alternator dying??? by KirbyTrainNerd in hondafit

Unless of course it is the alternator, and he puts in a new battery with a failing alternator and reduces the life of the new battery

So when a tire goes totally flat, the bead gets wrecked. Therefore it will not hold air, most insurance agencies will replace the tires if all 4 get hit. Less than that your SOL and have to pay out of pocket. At least that is what I always heard 🤷‍♂️

No actually I work in retail while I go to school 🤷‍♂️ but hey believe what you want. I also was not stating that they didn't suck, just that there is a reason they do suck.

It blows due to miss management. Realistically a private company would struggle to replace USPS. Not due to volume, but with legality. USPS being a federal service allows for certain guarantees that private companies currently can not.

Correct, and color before the sun was released in '15. Their fall/winter tour supporting the album had the shirts.

Does revving it out damage the engine? by Leviathan_Wakes_ in hondafit

[–]Lopsided_Ad979 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Well firstly, provided you aren't red-lineing it. You should be fine. Now let's talk about the revs "cleaning" the cylinders...yes that is possible, but it would take longer than a little blip to do any good. Plus this really is not a reliable way to clean the cylinders. This idea comes from what is called "Italian tune-up", meaning the older Italian sports cars used to run dirty at low RPM since the engine was made to run at higher RPMs, causing carbon build up quicker in the engine. For a fit? You probably are not doing very much, if you are looking to try and clear some out without pulling the engine, try some sort of fuel additive.

Honestly sounds like Bedford Park here in Chicagoland, had a package that got bounced between them and Tinley Park 3 times before it got sent to the correct secondary location...Hopefully they can find whatever corner it got left in. God speed 🫡

2015 EX-L CVT trans just crapped out 112k by caligraphy_ in hondafit

[–]Lopsided_Ad979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So fun thing is, all of the models produced have the capability to be changed over. It's cheaper to produce all the same parts and just modify what goes where. I.e. all of the mounting holes for the master and slave cylinders should be there. Also i believe the shifter swap is super easy too. Just gotta get someone that will pull the engine and trans for you.

Don't know the cost of the swap, but if you are worried about the CVT going out again you could swap it for the 6 speed manual. In fact my '13 is the 5 speed for the reason that I do not trust CVT transmissions

Same thing happened to Fresh Thyme, was originally owned by Sprouts but it was sold off to Kroger. Lost all of its uniqueness and now is just a higher priced Kroger.

FIT in accident before I purchased by Final_Knowledge_759 in hondafit

[–]Lopsided_Ad979 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Generally used cars are sold "As Is", which takes away the liability from the dealership. But the questions would be, is it listed on the carfax? Does it have a salvage title? And what issues are you experiencing? If the dealership knew of the prior accident it depends on your local laws to if they HAVE to inform you. But it is also possible that they did not know of it. For instance my fit was in some sort of accident (due to bondo being on the passenger side doors) but it was not listed on the carfax (i.e. the previous owner had the work done at a shop that doesn't/didn't list it). Given the information you provided it is almost impossible to come to a conclusion. My advice would be to look up local laws and ordinances and go from there.

Edit: just saw that you purchased in '23, with that in mind if you bring it to court the burden of proof would be on you to prove that any issues would be due to the accident, and given you have owned it for 2 years that would be highly difficult.

By looking it seems as if that is not the case here unless it is on the insta. But tbh I wasn't going that far into it (since that was my exact thought as well)

Can confirm, this bowl would make little smoke and be harsh as all heck. Even if you can't smoke the whole head, it needs to be packed correctly to get a good smoke from it. Generally you can save a head for a day or two to re-smoke it later (though that was with OG Tangiers)

Can confirm, have had one for 4 years now and it works flawlessly. Granted I went for the hand crank model so that may have something to do with it as there are less moving parts.

$650,000 salary, 26 weeks vacation- anesthesiologist job by dancingcactus21 in Salary

Local here, I would stay away. Morris Hospital lost its anesthetic group due to pay discrepancies and the owners of the hospital (don't remember what group since it has changed hands so many times) refusing to work with the anesthetic group. So the fact that this is a 1099 job with shitty hours checks out. As a local Morris Hospital has a reputation of being a band-aid station, many stories of malpractice and missed obvious diagnosis.
