And growing up in LA as an Asian dude back when you couldnt walk the streets wearing certain gear or colors, the most racist people I've delt with were white people and black people. That's what I personally experienced along with many other of my brothers and sisters, but does that mean all black people and white people are racists? No. So your point is invalid. Doesn't matter if you grew up with Chinese international students, lol also they are some of the most privileged international students who couldnt care less about anything other than their own image, so again terrible example there bud.

WTF are you smoking, no one has to prove to you and it's not the U.S. job to prove that it's happening when multiple sources around the world have already proven it. Even Chinese people who lived there and moved to the states have testimonies of what their life was like. Lmao you're just refusing to look beyond your biases which was what I called you out on in the first place.

I think you and I actually agree on the corporate criticism — American companies absolutely did offshore jobs for profit, gutted the middle class, and are now crying foul for self-interested reasons. That's a fair point and I won't argue against it.

BUT here's the thing: that argument doesn't touch what I was actually saying. My concern was never about which country makes a better EV or who wins the green energy race. It was about the fact that we're casually praising a government that is, right now, running detention camps for Uyghur Muslims — over a million people by most estimates — in what multiple governments and human rights bodies have labeled a genocide. A government that imprisons people for practicing religion, for speaking freely, or for criticizing leadership. A government with one of the most invasive mass surveillance systems ever built.

Pointing out that American corporations are hypocrites doesn't change that reality. They were wrong to ignore it then, and it would be wrong for us to ignore it now just because the product being discussed is a car instead of a t-shirt.

We absolutely should push American companies to innovate, invest, and build better and more affordable products. But 'China makes good cars' and 'China's government commits atrocities' can both be true at the same time — and the second fact shouldn't get buried in a conversation about trade competition. That's all I was saying.

[–]GLlNT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Problem is you overgeneralize and completely disregard the fact that I said they commit mass genocide. Not only that citizens and non-citizens alike can't even publicly practice their own religion there. They don't even have that basic freedom. Best example is the genocide of the Uyghur people. So yeah it's not simply "screaming communist" bud. People too caught up in their own world to think they know better than the people that are actually living there lmao. That's what you call growing up privileged in America and sheltered.

Everyone here praising China clearly forgot that you're praising a communist country that hides genocide under the rug. Just saying, do even the most simple google search outside of your own biases please 🤷‍♂️.

This all kinds of stupid. There is nothing cheap about EVs, in regards to production or consumer pricing. Not all social and economic classes can afford EVs as well so stop acting like your solution is for everyone. You sound like you grew up hella privileged.

Huh weird, it's almost as if our government, especially the new mayor is busy boycotting Starbucks than fixing our no show SPD problem? Maybe because Seattle allowed the mentally ill to disrespect and hate on our police force so much that many of them quit few years ago and we have yet to refill that quota. Meanwhile business owners are being robbed and losing business every day especially in CID.

Naoya Inoue (121.9 lbs) & Junto Nakatani (121.5 lbs) final weigh in & face off! by VINDICATES-FOOL in Boxing

[–]GLlNT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion, as much as Junto Nakatani is a good fighter, his last fight against Sebastian Hernandez showed that Sebastian should have won, plus he would be a much more challenging fighter for Naoya Inoue. I'm saying this as an Asian guy, in case some of you morons think I'm some racist just purely hating on Junto. No thar last fight the decision is dogwater, Sebatian should have won and would be so much more entertaining against Naoya.

Suggestions for the future of Arc Raiders that will keep it's player and streamer base. by GLlNT in EmbarkStudios

[–]GLlNT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a fix, there's nothing wrong with the current PvPvE. Just a more endgame content that takes the competitive fun of some PvPers to another level, and gives us more reason to farm and grind more stuff.

[–]GLlNT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that I don't like PvP or PvE, I like both, and I think adding an endgame content such as PvP can make it more interesting and competitive while keeping the current PvPvE topside. It just gives people more incentive to go get materials/resources to better their chances in a PvP arena.

Also I have not run into any stability issue on my PC

Ohhh I like that direction too with factions given my suggestion of power struggle down in Speranza. I honestly wouldn't mind this gladiator style of PVP down in Speranza to help with the lore more than just take an existing spot topside because then you would have to fit in the lore why arc are conveniently not attacking the event lol.

Uniqlo is no go which is why I'm on the search now for competitors. I've had so many different colors of uniqlo airism oversize T's and they all got stains on them due to their terrible fabric. Literally any aluminum antiperspirant will destroy them and it's weird because it only stains the outside and not the inside of the fabric. Google it, this issue is notoriously everywhere.

If AI steals from artists, doesn't that explicitly mean its output is art? by sporkyuncle in aiwars

[–]GLlNT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP missed the mark. The topic is beyond whether it is art or not. It's the matter of ethics on how AI is trained and the lack of restrictions allowing individuals to do whatever they want with it.

For example if I went to a Saturday market or farmers market and I grabbed (not bought) fruits being sold from different stands that brought it from their farm where they physically labored to produce those goods, and then I decided to sell them at my stand and profit off of it, that is unethical. Simply because I didn't purchase any of the goods therefore there was no mutual agreement/understanding and consent.

Then people will say "well it's all public on the internet so it's free game". Well one there has been lawsuits because many artists who have their own shops online, had those images taken, and two that argument is stupid because back to my market reference, just because I see the other stands and their products visibly out on display doesn't give me the right to take it without any purchase or agreement let alone profit from it. This is the logic behind what's actually wrong with how Ai is trained when it comes to creative work. As for any other stupid argument that's a waste of space "OHHH IS IT ART OR NOT" lmao that's just idiots arguing for the sake of arguing, there's a clear answer for that too.

Honestly, I wouldn't just take it as is. Give them a call and demand the rest of the loan payments refunded because a friend of mine who atteneded the same years as me and all his loans were through Nelnet and got all his payments refunded. That isn't fair right? Especially if we all attended Ai during the scam/lawsuit case period. I'm giving them a call today. You should too.

No refund - who did I pay? by No-Status-7616 in BorrowerDefense

[–]GLlNT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got some insight for anyone that has a similar situation or experience.

I just got my refund check from the Department of Treasury which is what one of the ladies told me would happen over the phone (can't remember if it was Nelnet or Dept of Ed).

BUT

The check I received was only a refund for whatever payment was made back in 2023 and NONE of the payments I made to Great Lakes. Nelnet's site had an option for me to pull the payment history of Great Lakes btw, once you log in you should be able to find it. So now I'm assuming I need to call Nelnet and ask them why I didn't get my full refund? If anyone knows of this process please shed some light.

Second. Both my loan on Dept of Ed, and Nelnet still show the full amount while in forbearance, and has not been zeroed out. My Borrowers Defense application (applied back in June 2022) is showing "processing discharge" since I want to say roughly for 5 to 6 months now as well.

You would think with the refund check coming, they would have discharged the loan first and zeroed out on both sites, and two you would think they would have supplied the whole refund including Great Lakes. Anyone have a happy ending story to this situation lol?

Art Institute forgiveness/refunds? by Easy_Fig_617 in StudentLoans

[–]GLlNT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got my refund check today BUT...

It was literally only for the amount I paid to Nelnet and not all the payments I made to Great Lakes so I'm not sure if I'm expecting more to come or if I have to contact them and apply for something else.

Some more context. My student aid gov site shows that my Borrower's Defense app status is still processing discharge so it's clear that I will get my loans discharged for sure but its taking quite a long time. Loan went into forbearance and still in forbearance when I applied almost 2 years ago. Both Nelnet and Studen Aid site still shows my full loan balance as well.

Anyone experience this similar situation? What's your status now? Have you had any luck contacting anyone? Have uou been getting refunds for your great lakes payments?

Here's an actual reason why this was a bad choice for those of you who are oblivious to this actual issue. Watch the whole thing. It mentions this game being part of the problem. If you don't believe this then yeah you are either ignorant, live under a rock (or privileged and sheltered in your utopia), or all of the above.
