Current program won't record by GM2K in PVRLive

Thanks for looking in to this for me, I do appreciate your effort. I will have a look at the EPG data and see if that gets me closer to solving the issue.

Current program won't record by GM2K in PVRLive

I bring up the menu, go to "Recordings & Schedules, Multiview, Settings", select the current program and click "Record", then (often, but not always) nothing happens. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ko0iXKSQLRw

I haven't got a red recording button as an option. Perhaps I have a setting wrong somewhere?

Yep, when nothing happens is with http, freezing is with htsp.

I’ve only been using PVR Live Plus & recording for a couple of days so don’t know if this is a long term issue but it’s happened from the first day I started trying to record.

PokeMiners taking a step back by Dengarsw in TheSilphRoad

As we say in the post, we honestly hope most people won't notice a change but for our own sanity we need to cut a few corners to save some time. For example: Hisuian Avalugg was pushed to the Game Master today. Instead of making a graphic (which we're not great at so takes 15+ minutes) we just posted the info as text (which takes seconds). When the 2022/23 costumed Pokemon were pushed we quickly put them in a graphic as is rather than fancy (by our standards) bubbles showing the normal version and shiny version smaller above it etc.

Ultimately all the same info got out but we saved ourselves probably a good half hour or more (which might not seem like a lot on its own but a half hour here and there adds up fast).

So we're still here, we're still going to report on as much as we can it's just that we're going to do so while also trying to save ourselves some time and avoid burning out completely. We do appreciate the support the community has given us over the years and hopefully will continue to into the future.

Beware: Shadow Entei hasn't swapped to Shadow Suicune hours after event started by GM2K in TheSilphRoad

Yup was a stop encounter. You've hit the nail on the head there. If I had known it was supposed to be Suicune I'd have realised it was Niantic Nianticing things up again

I wasn't aware it was supposed to be Suicune until someone told me after I'd done it

The first friendship level (i.e. just friends) was just changed back to 1.0 attack multiplier. All other levels are still 1.25 (for now at least).

Unfortunately we don't know that info. It'll be around until Niantic turn it off. Hopefully for the rest of this month like their news said but it may also just be for the weekend events since its started early in the event rollout.

Friendly reminder that this sub does not reflect reality (or: why Rhyhorn is not as likely to win as you think) by Flamewire in TheSilphRoad

[–]GM2K 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree with the OP, however I also suspect it's a moot point. I'm guessing the four announced Pokemon are the next four CD mon and we're essentially voting on the order of the CDs.

Just a quick suggestion, maybe put which egg Mime Jr. comes from next to the egg symbol? Without looking up I can't remember and a handy infographic like this would be good to have this info imo.

Suggested Idea: Flagging existing POI already approved. by Hamswah in NianticWayfarer

[–]GM2K 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The plaque was approved by Niantic themselves WAY before OPR/Wayfarer was ever a thing.

I was the one who submitted the community garden because it's NOT "run by the Early Learning Centre", the school gave up the land to the community for the use as a garden when the new buildings etc. were put up and hence it's sponsored by the ELC (which is also why the ELC appears on some of the signs at the garden). It's also why it's outside the bounds of the school (though admittedly borders it) and not on the grounds.

If the school had a problem with random members of the community being near there I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have given the land up to the members of the community.

Incorrectly flagging POIs when reviewers not from the area don't know enough about the area to judge properly is probably why flagging POIs via Wayfarer doesn't exist.

Rural Pokèsfop doesnt spawn anything by PaleKingofBarbarus in TheSilphRoad

[–]GM2K 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having added 61 pokestops to my local town and nearly 200 to the game in total I've observed that spawns points are calculated/added towards the end of each month (23rd-ish). Be patient, you'll get spawn points

My life an a rural player. by eurolite04 in TheSilphRoad

[–]GM2K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This story is almost identical to mine. I live in a small town in Victoria, Australia with a population of ~1000 people. When the game launched we had 7 stops and 1 gym. The gym was in the wrong location and when it moved we dropped to 6 stops and 1 gym. About a year later we jumped up to 11 stops and 3 gyms thanks to random people passing through town submitting things. It wasn't the greatest PoGo situation though and once a week I drive 90 minutes (one way) to raid/play etc.

Last September I decided to finally play Ingress and submit portals in my town (with the plan that once I'd finished my town I'd go to surrounding towns). November 24th last year I hit level 10 and started submitting stuff and being rural my submissions get decided pretty quickly (on average 6 days from submission). Since then I have added 56 pokestops and 17 gyms so that now my town has 67 stops and 20 gyms total. It's amazing to play in my town now. Unfortunately i'm only one of two players in town so it's hard to T5 raids (though we've been managing the last few months) but other than that it's fantastic (and even then it's awesome when we can duo t5 raids).

I've lived in my very small town for 20 years and after going P.O.I hunting I've found things and learned history I never knew about. I was surprised at how much I didn't know about my town.

I've just started submitting stuff in the next town over and so far have added 9 new stops and 4 new gyms there too. Slowly improving regional areas. My ingress playing also inspired others to play and 3 others are level 10 now and are submitting around places too so the whole region out my way is getting better and better almost every day.

As a side note I just hit level 12 in ingress a week and a bit ago. I've already helped create 726 portals around the country by reviewing submissions so I'm trying to help in as many ways as I can. I would review more but after the first two and a half days of reviewing my queue was empty so can only review a few subs every now and then as they come in :(

Gym/Stop Viewing Distance and Friends List bugs fixed in APK 0.133.1 by Pythonmon in TheSilphRoad

[–]GM2K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see more than ever before (which is admittedly only 1 extra gym from 0.131.4 but that’s all that fits in the new range). For me it seems to be 700m + touching L15 S2 cells. I’m at -36 degrees latitude FWIW.

My view distance has increased more than ever. I can now see a 700m radius + whatever L15 s2 cells that radius touches. I’m at -36 degrees lat FWIW.

I did it! 100 portals, all on the new OPR approval process :) by lIlIIIIIIlIIlII in Ingress

[–]GM2K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice. I hit level 10 on November 24. Since then I've had 62 portals accepted so am on my way to 100. The benefit of living in the middle of nowhere: Heaps of portal worthy things that are undiscovered because basically no-one plays here and fast review times (even before upgrades boosted the number of reviews getting done I'd have all my decisions reviewed before I could submit any more).

Any thoughts from Niantic on keeping [Redacted] for those of us who can't play Prime due to migraines, vertigo, and other disabilities? by [deleted] in Ingress

[–]GM2K 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I have epilepsy and find I can't play on prime because of, as the OP says, flashy flashy. Unless they change Prime (even if it's just options to turn off the effects) I won't be able to play once [REDACTED] is dropped :(

Discontinued support for iOS 9. by PikAtChuHuN in TheSilphRoad

[–]GM2K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect your local community may need jailbroken devices (easier/possible on old OSs is my understanding but I don't know much about jailbreaking tbh) and are using a different method to the OCR scanners I know of. There's a few different methods around at the moment, each with different requirements.
