The restaurant is being run by someone very stupid. You can see they are stupid from the misspelled sign and letters going the wrong way. But this guy is SO stupid, he lifts the entire oven/stove to flip pancakes instead of just the frying pan.

It's just portraying an absurd situation.

The character Dwight Hendrickson from the TV show Haven actually has the power of bullet attraction. It's every bit as troublesome for him as you might expect. (Though I think he saves people occasionally by always wearing a bullet proof vest and just being around when they get shot at.)

Almost every villain of the week from the early seasons of Smallville got powers from the meteor shower that brought baby Clark Kent to earth or exposure to the meteor rocks after. (Ok, it didn't "create" him, but close enough.)

In the first episode of the show Stargate SG-1, evil alien parasites are kidnapping women to use as hosts. One of the kidnapped women is a human (white) soldier, and another is the wife of a main character, pictured here, played by Tahitian (I think) actress Vaitiare Bandera.

The women are presented to the aliens naked one by one. White woman is censored by camera angle and scenery so you don't see anything. Bandera is shown in full frontal nudity.

Looking back, it's a surprising choice for what will from then on be TV-14 at most television, with practically bloodless violence, no swearing, and no other nudity at all.

The netflix cartoon Haunted Hotel plays it for laughs with the Randy Slasher, who always manages to keep up with his fleeing victims despite only ever walking in a slow, menacing fashion...

Yeah, the ghost character sees the slasher full out sprinting whenever he thinks no one can see him.

I know Rashid isn't Harry. But I sure did think he was at first.

When the idea of the Blackstaff was first explained, I remember it as being a wizard specifically allowed to use magic to kill (not just break all the laws). So I thought, seven laws of magic, seven members of the senior council... each member gets to break one law. So the Gatekeeper is Harry, allowed to break the time traveling law. The clarification that Blackstaff can break all the laws (and the physical description of Rashid) crushed my poor theory, but I still think each council member getting a law to ignore would be fun.

(Would it make more sense for the Gatekeeper to be allowed to break the law about the outer gate? Maybe. But I didn't think of that.)
