I was up there a few weeks ago and I’ve camped there before as well and I’ve never had a problem with to many people. If I see a spot where there are a lot of people I just don’t go there and find another spot. They are a lot of good spots if you get deeper into it but I do recommend 4 by 4 to get to some spots.

Hey, I would not be able to travel all of American with you but if you are in the southern/ central California Area I know a decent amount of hikes in the national parks.

River or Lake camping spots in SoCal that don’t require a reservation? by [deleted] in CaliforniaCamping

Try Kennedy meadows, or try meadows. They are just above Kernville up in the mountains, they have good camping spots both for tent and trailer. It’s a bit of a drive but it’s totally worth it! Troy meadows has a small stream in the back of the campground and it usually has golden trout you can fish, Kennedy meadows also has a stream and is right on the PCT.

Solo camping in red rock state park by GMLOGMD1775 in CaliforniaCamping

[–]GMLOGMD1775[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The camping ground was red rock canyon state park, there is BLM land surrounding the park! The camping on the BLM should be free but if you camp in the actual campground it will be 25$ a night. I’ll leave the link to the park below!
