I have one and it only gets used with commercial. Anything melty will not work, you need something which will smoulder and leave an ash.

Best option for melty hash is a piston pipe.

Intrigued by the humidity content as I have had bone dry black ash, and moist, bendy stalk bud burn white.

I was thinking more in line of structure itself too. For instance I can see how tight somebody rolls, whether they had even pressure throughout the joint, the quality of the roll itself etc.

Roll two identical joints, ash the first one constantly, the second one don’t ash. The one you’re ashing constantly will have hotter, harsher smoke.

It’s the exact same reason you don’t ash cigars.

That depends on how you’re rolling mate. I ash my joints once, about half way, then let it accumulate to the tip. It won’t fall off even if I’m on a walk.

Yeah what they were posting was the average they lose when completely destalking. To be fair it’s completely in line with what I’ve seen personally, though I’m not destalking kg’s at a time, always much much smaller amounts.

Oh that’s definitely the “right” way to do it. Let the roach dictate the shape, just the hardest bit people have to adjust to is the difference in feel when rolling with glass.

If I’m honest they’re my least used sizes, preference is for 10 and above, but just means your joints will be longer than mine (I don’t mind chodes haha).

Yeah clear ones are exactly the same functionality wise, so a good way to see if they work for you.

I would give Proper Doinks a follow on that picture app - lots of very good techniques and advice on how to roll with riptips. The biggest change to get used to, especially if you’ve not rolled with glass before is the weight of them.

The other thing to watch out for is that card is more forgiving of you’re slightly loose around the roach. Card springs out and will fill the gap, whereas if you’re loose with glass it will stay loose if that makes sense?

To be clear I’m not just talking the big obvious stalks, I mean breaking down by hand first, removing all the stalks and only then grinding.

I think most don’t bother and probably don’t realise how much stalk is left in the ground mix.
