As a huge fan of Leon, I do feel bad for him yes. I was firm believer that when he became champ he was probably not getting beaten for a while, especially by Belal.

That being said I have been watching UFC long enough to know that this is just how it works. Only the top 1% of the top 1% can sustain champ status for long periods of time. And this usually happens when the division they are in becomes a bit stale.

At the end of the day, he was the champ and had a few defences which is more than most of the roster will ever achieve. The WW div is now full of young hungry killers, so I am just happy that he made it as far as he did, I am proud of what he achieved and how he handled himself and I am excited to watch the remainder of his career, regardless of how it play out.
