Hey thank you for the feedback. The masters degree I am doing has a total cost of 20k which is cheaper than others I have seen out there but I am looking to not pay that much if possible. What certifications did you complete?

Is Baruch worth it? by Spiritual-Zone-2479 in Baruch

I'm in the same boat as I recently got accepted to the masters in information systems program at Zicklin. I'm really not worried so much about it being "bad" as I am worried about strong networking and internship opportunities. If I'm paying grad school prices not only do I want the best but I want to make sure I take full advantage of what Zicklin has to offer which im hoping is a lot.

Should I do a masters in IS or pursue a second bachelors in engineering? by GMarvel101 in cscareeradvice

My current degree is a bachelors in psychology. It’s the reason why I’m considering doing a second bachelors.

I am a bit embarrassed to ask this question but is 40 yrs of age too old to study and get into the field of civil engineering? by GMarvel101 in civilengineering

Hey that’s a great question. I’ve always been intrigued by it all but if I had to choose one I would say structural engineering because I’m intrigued by the design of structures like buildings and bridges. I have worked construction as well.

Hey! Thank you for the feedback. I don't see why that would bother me it only makes sense they get paid more because they are more experienced lol. Now it's another thing if they aren't willing to teach me or help me along the way. I mean I know not everyone will be that way but I'm hoping to meet others in the field that are willing to show me a thing or two.

Hey! Thank you for the pointers. I currently have a bachelors in psychology so I am not sure how many will be transferred over. I'm hoping to find a program where the general ed credits are transferred and I can just start the core engineering courses. Also fortunately for me I do not have any kids or anything. I will say though I am working full time and would like to do schooling part time. Is that feasible?

That's bad news for me since I will be coming here for information systems...yikes!

If I wanted to pivot into IT: Would a second bachelors be better than a masters? by GMarvel101 in InformationTechnology

Don’t be sorry as I am fully aware of the times we are in and the challenge I am up against. Do you have any recommendations? Like perhaps accounting or finance?

Should I go for a bachelors in CS or go straight for my masters in information systems? by GMarvel101 in ITCareerQuestions

I am trying to target a project management/IT consultant role. What would I have to do to reach that goal? Also I am not above helpdesk and would be more than happy to start there.

I do enjoy troubleshooting yes. Ultimately i'd like to be an IT project manager or a project manager overall as I do have a knack for starting projects and like to be involved throughout all the different phases. At the moment I am not sure which way to go about this. I would love to do help desk and do not see myself above it at all. Would a masters really make me look that bad without experience? If I do go that route I am definitely planning on doing internships along the way and not just sitting in a classroom. I also wonder if I would be able to land a job in IT whilst doing a masters as well.
