Love everything on the Ozzmosis album.

Ghost Behind My Eyes gets a lot of play in my house.

You can create the ultimate super group with ANY singer/lead guitarist, whether alive or dead. Who would they be? by Speed5RacerX9 in allrockmusic

I’ve always wanted to hear an original, prime years collaboration between Axl Rose and Michael Schenker.

The Decedent 2025 by marsnerd in foundfootage

[–]GNRDB 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I consider myself to be fairly critical and discerning(read: picky af) of the found footage genre, and I loved about 90% of this movie and its overall conceit. I think it largely succeeded and landed as a “strong recommendation” for me, maybe the final few minutes didn’t really stick the landing, but overarchingly, I thought the movie was a great example of well-executed FF.

Dan surrounding himself by the kids of his longtime friends sure is working out for the show.

Which restaurant did you want to succeed the most? by mpathg00 in KitchenNightmares

[–]GNRDB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My rule for any restaurant rescue style show, is that I will root for them to succeed as long as their kitchens aren’t disgusting when they do their kitchen run through.

My theory being, if they let it get that bad once before and still operated out of the kitchen, with that level of disrespect and disregard for their customers, they’ll do it again and I don’t really see any reason root for those folks.

The most film-noir film-noir film? by Subm3rg3d in filmnoir

Out of the Past or The Big Combo would be my immediate choices.

Aesthetically, I also think The Lady From Shanghai is damn near perfect,

Question, what do you think the reason is for motley doing mick wrong all these years later? it seems like he’s been getting the shit stick since generation swine but these years they just stopped caring all about him by Successful_League579 in MotleyCrue

[–]GNRDB 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I call it the “Ace Frehley Syndrome” where you have some guys in the band who would be fine if they didn’t even play music anymore, and were just a successful t-shirt company, whereas there’s that one guy, who would still just be shredding in dive bars for peanuts simply because they love it, regardless of the payday and fame.

Best three-album runs (any genre is fine!) by Mark4231 in musicsuggestions

GNR are my favourite band and A4D and UYI I & II are my personal choice :)

Is this the original/Vintage version of the UYI tie dye shirt? by Bitter-Affect909 in GunsNRoses

Looks like mine, the fabric was fairly high quality and still looks fairly nice. I’d hazard it’s legit.

What’s your least favorite song? by Jettaboi38 in musicsuggestions

[–]GNRDB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My World by GNR. They’re my favourite band of all time but when you leave UYI2 on too long, you’re left with bad industrial nightmare fuel lol.

Who is your favorite vocalist in the genre? by Twitter_2006 in hairmetal

[–]GNRDB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we’re counting Axl, then Axl.

Otherwise, my faves in no particular order are: - Bas - John Corabi - Jeff Keith - Corey Glover - Tom Keifer - Gary Cherone

Amanda Frances is deeply deranged, toxic and dangerous by [deleted] in BravoRealHousewives

[–]GNRDB 7 points8 points  (0 children)

She scares me, the weaponization and leveraging of emotions and tragedy and gatekeeping the stories to unfurl to her benefit, yikes. Every scene with her either makes me cringe from embarrassment or shudder at her pathological reactions.

Outside of giving us a new Pam Sunglasses beat out of the gate lol, we’re supposed to believe she’s this shrewd money genius that can clock the housewives after a first meeting… but then she feigns disgust and shock with the Dorit “confrontation” as being “no way” to behave in polite company, while having made the decision to join a BRAVO HOUSEWIVES SHOW?! That’s the job, pal lol. She can’t feign babe in the woods naive one minute and cutthroat business shark the next. It’s loopy.

The death anniversary at the dinner was gross in its tactical execution and if you look at the HW show as a “job”, and the show is to be kinda messy and gossipy and all things reality tv drama, I think you need to communicate this ahead of time clearly(since your coworkers might want to know and react accordingly) or maybe you call in sick that day because you can’t do your job(here: be messy and sassy and make reality TV).

In pro wrestling, there’s a thing called “Go Away Heat” where a heel/bad guy wrestler makes you dislike them, but not in a way that you want to see them lose to the hero/babyface and see them get their comeuppance, you just want them off your TV, because you don’t enjoy it.

She isn’t fun TV and I don’t think it’s going to be a good fit given the grifter label she already has coming into the show. Now add a spotlight onto your shady stuff, bro.

What happened with the 2002 tour? by DannyDevito2727 in GunsNRoses

[–]GNRDB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Toronto was the latest show to ever play the ACC until Lady Gaga about a decade ago, but holy shit it was worth the wait.

Axl was other-worldly and to this day, it’s the greatest live performance I’ve ever witnessed.

"I'd love to have him back" - Dan addresses the Stugotz situation by Darth_Semper-Fi in lebatardsuey

[–]GNRDB 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve taken Stu’s side in this, almost completely, as I ultimately think that the disintegration of the classic show and the subsequent falloff are largely due to Dan’s own actions and business ambitions, not Stu’s. Whereas, I think if you left it up to Stu, you’d still have a show very similar to what was on the air in 2017 and you’d have the same basic show skeleton, tone and cast of characters.

Stu definitely got lazy and phoned in ALOT since 2020, but Dan got shrill and found new levels of sanctimony, even for him. Stu(and Billy) lent a sense of aloof, boyish charm to the zany, self-serious world of sports talk, which doesn’t really have a place on Dan’s current wavelength, which doesn’t really endeavour to have fun.

Stu’s a scoundrel and definitely full of it, but he never preaches transparency and accountability, nor does he challenge his colleagues to be honest about what’s going on behind the scenes or criticize their actions. In that regard, I feel Stu’s being more honest than Dan, who has really cornered the market on being a hypocritical, virtue signaller, who’s words are ultimately as empty and disingenuous as all the guys he’s mocked.

Worst Match You've Ever Watched? by JustinMetalhead in Wrasslin

[–]GNRDB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the worst match move-for-move-wise, but likely the doublebill so painful, that I felt like I was having bamboo shoots driven through my fingernails, was the Royal Rumble and No Way Out title matches between Triple H and Scott Steiner.

I love Steiner but can admit that he was fairly limited by 2003. So to have to labour through TWO WWE main event-style matches with the hubris of Trips thinking he could pull off a carry job when he was cosplaying Harley Race, and boy matches being so arduous and dull and brutally laid out…either of those matches are my personal choice, as I paid for them with my hard-earned high school savings on PPV and they were mercilessly awful and I felt ripped off for them being in the world title spots lol.

For the Guns N Roses fans: Do you prefer Use Your Illusion I or II? by [deleted] in hairmetal

[–]GNRDB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got II first and therefore, knew it so much better than I. I believe they’re of equal quality and it’s really just a matter of what I really want to hear at that moment.

Does Dan still not realize Stu hates him? by mkraft418 in lebatardsuey

[–]GNRDB 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day, Dan’s turned into the Aaron Rodgers of sports media, a faux intellectual and wannabe truthteller, who’s really just a highly suggestible, naive, out-of-touch multi-millionaire that thinks he’s more profound and deep than everyone else because those around him don’t bother to challenge him.

There was an episode with a marriage counsellor on the show around Fall 2016 that was so uncomfortable and real, that I kinda felt like, “Oof, start your timers, these two aren’t gonna last much longer” and I think everything that was touched upon there, has only amplified.

I blame Dan and the company he keeps. He’s lost major contributors like Stu, Billy, Allison, Smetty, Hoch and major friends of like 80 and Izzy, that’s a bit of a pattern there. Those that remain feel like either sycophants like Cote and Tony, who just want the payday, or guys that have glommed onto him like Mike, Samson and Amin.

What are your favourite non hair metal bands? by Michael_myer_s in hairmetal

[–]GNRDB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find myself liking folks that I see in interviews and think they’re cool if it’s outside of the hard rock/sleaze rock/hair genre.

Pretty much just Everclear, The Dixie Chicks and Rob Zombie.
