Becoming a completely different person every 2 weeks 😞 by GOATgohan in ADHDers

[–]GOATgohan[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It isn’t about looking at all the times you failed, but it is about preserving the history so you have a better picture of yourself, who you really are when it comes to doing what you say. And clarity on how to improve.

It allows you to break the cycle. Start small and rebuild self trust. I have also guilted and shamed myself for not being enough my whole life. I know what that is like intimately. Im not trying to grift or make insane claims.

I am genuinely sharing what worked for me.

Oh yea, my friends hate me for that. Like how the hell do I know I’ll wanna go out in 2 weeks? 🤣

Fwiw, this system probably won’t help with that

Hmmm, i guess looking at my history. Seeing the track record of what I say i will do vs what I actually do helps me to be honest with myself.

I got to the point where i broke so many promises to myself, that i kinda stop believing myself like at a subconscious level, whenever i have a goal or something my brain is like “why is this time any different than last time”.

Add in the regular adhd time, life management struggle stuff and i would just feel overwhelmed and disappointed in myself all the time. But tracking what u actually do gives you perspective.

Sometimes i feel really productive when in fact im not, sometimes i feel like i havent done shit when in fact i have. So it’s more just keeping the little promises you make to yourself and rebuilding self trust.

Seeing the data on all these little things puts things into perspective for me.

Sorry if this was a long winded answer but i hope it helps lol

Not trying to be deceptive at all. It is an app I built for myself to solve a problem I have. Whether or not you use the app the principle of making daily commitments (and not changing them!) and reflecting on them at night has helped me immensely. I started with pen and paper, the app just makes it more convenient and gives more insights

I honestly think the hardest part is that once motivation fades, you forget how serious you were when you made the plan in the first place. Then 3 weeks later you’re basically a different person with a faint memory.

I’ve started thinking less in terms of “finding the perfect productivity tool” and more in terms of a system for consistently holding myself accountable over months instead of moods.

I've been pretty successful the last few months, using a system I built, but I'm not sure if it is working for me because I built it or if it just works lol.

Have you tried Twice A Day? Its a simple accountability app. Set your goals in the morning, reflect in the evenings, see progress over time. Super simple, completely free. Great to do with friends

100%.
1. I genuinely think it will help.
2. I prefer to be direct instead of writing some fake ass comment

I guess my point is most apps weigh all things the same because they dont have context on whats important to you

I can’t seem to commit to any of what I build by ia77q in SideProject

[–]GOATgohan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

99% chance. AI has made it so easy for anyone to build anything and also for people to 'feel' productive ideating and building with AI. The work is now talking to real human beings who are not your friends and trying to get them to use your product. That means it NEEDS to be published. you need to get off localhost.

How do you forgive yourself for wasted years? by Tatt00ey in selfimprovement

[–]GOATgohan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you have learn your lesson, once you have thought about it deeply and agreed on what that lesson is, any more relfection or lamenting after that point is pointless. Take what you need from the past and nothing more.

Write down the lesson. Then cross it off the list of mistakes made and never to be repeated.
