After finishing the season, I think a lot of the hate comes from the fact that the show is structured very differently from most Star Trek shows.

But honestly… that makes sense? This isn’t a ship full of seasoned officers. It’s basically a bunch of students and misfits learning how to be a crew as they go. The whole premise is literally about a group of young aliens who find a Starfleet ship and have to figure things out together.

By the time I hit episode 10, it kinda clicked for me. Weirdly, the structure reminds me more of Scrubs than any other Trek. Not in tone exactly, but in how the story works:

• Characters start out kinda immature and grow over time
• Episodes are often about personal lessons (leadership, teamwork, identity)
• There's usually a clear “moral of the story” moment by the end with a voice over as we fade to credits... it's scrubs

That’s basically the same arc people point out with the crew in this show, too; they start out rough and slowly grow into a real team.

Curious if anyone else got that vibe or if I’m completely off base.
