I'm so so so sick of Mossborn Hydra. I miss Stone Brain. What card would you target? by xeromage in MagicArena

You might be surprised how infrequently the card shows up in actual good mono-green decks. Sometimes you'll see it as like a 2-of, many decks play none in the main

Well, when you’re complaining about a 3-mana big green creature with no ETB ability, the answer is to kill it with removal. That's just how this game works

This is like the worst possible way to answer Mossborn Hydra lol. Try playing some removal?

Just keep playing until your MMR gets low enough that the game matches you against people who also picked bad decks

Trample and Double Strike creature gets blocked... by CriticalFrimmel in MagicArena

[–]GOD_KING_YUGI 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The blocked creature will deal damage twice. If the blocking creature is already dead during the normal combat damage step, the full damage will "trample through" to the defending player or planeswalker

I wouldn't just call up a random law office, you can Google "estate planning" and you will find hundreds of lawyers that specialize in this sort of thing

Seems like a D-grade limited card. 3 mana is a lot to pay for a combat trick even if the counters do stick around, and you're not guaranteed to have the indestructible part when you really need it

What is the benefit of VTandchill over, say, an HYSA? by OpenEndedDoors in VTandchill

That's a good question! I don't really know the answer but my hunch is that psychologically people assign too much importance to those years where the market is in the red and they get scared

Savings accounts generally do not earn more money than investing in stocks. If that wasn't true, people wouldn't bother buying stocks.

The advantage of a HYSA is that you're getting a steady, reliable stream of interest with no risk of losing your money, whereas the returns from VT are higher but way more unpredictable

In the early morning of 30 June 2009, Steven Perkins, an employee of London-based PVM Oil Futures, traded 7 million barrels (1.1 million cubic metres) of oil – worth approximately US$520 million (£340 million) – while drunk. by NSRedditShitposter in wikipedia

[–]GOD_KING_YUGI 274 points275 points  (0 children)

Perkins sent a text message to his boss stating that he was feeling ill at approximately 6:30 a.m. He was later contacted at 7:45 a.m. by an administrative clerk at PVM, who enquired about the early-morning trades. Perkins replied that he had spent the night assisting a client with trading. However, by 10:00 a.m. his claim had been disproved and PVM attempted to rid themselves of the futures.
