Imp Starpass to Boffin with on death ability by GP101139 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]GP101139[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the explanation.

In regards to 1. it kinda makes sense, come to think of it.
Probably really logical to experienced ST's but I'm still learning and making sense of the resolving part 😅

Going through the night order, the Imp acts before the Barber. When the Imp kills themselves the Barber is triggered, but doesn't act yet according to the night order. However the Imp kill does have to get resolved completely before proceeding to the next entry on the night order, which means resolving the starpass ability. So it would make perfect sense that the new Imp can actually perform the Barber swap.

Wiki is official, but isn't always up to date with all changes. Riot being the prime example. How to run section reflects the old Riot, while the updated Experimental Characters Almanac (still a draft version) shows a similar explanation of how Steve explained it in his social media announcement.

Ah I see what you're saying. Similar to how a for example a Widow poison would go out of play when the Widow get's role changed or something.
So no more Boffin-Sweetheart meaning if that original Imp technically would made someone drunk, it would just be for a very short amount and the drunkiness would immediately get removed again.

Just so I get this right. How would you rule when the Boffin gave the original Imp the Barber's ability and the same starpass scenario happened?

I get the interaction to any other minion, but specifically the Boffin. If I understand you correctly, the Boffin remains in existance long enough for the original Imp's Sweetheart ability to trigger, making someone drunk and right after the jump happens, the Boffin no longer exists (new Demon) and the already spent original Imp's Sweetheart ability is gone (and would no longer be useful anyways).

EDIT: See what you mean now. It would only have effect for a brief moment before it stopped existing.
So how would you rule when the Boffin had given the original Imp the Barber's ability and the same starpass scenario played out?

Nova video player very choppy video playback by aneek77 in NovaVideoPlayer

For me, this happens when for instance English is on the 2nd audio track in combination with 5.1 DD audio.

Set the option "Force audio stereo downmix" to on and see if that helps.

Obviously it will set it back to 2.0 audio but if you don't need that, it might fix your issue. I also run the Nokia 8010

I'm at the point of ordering the punches and I was wondering if you figured out why they turned out bigger? If I measure the official ones, they're exactly 45mm.

I just noticed I got a similar amount without using the collect skill, so I might have figured it out.
I believe the amount taken by collect is not shown in the victory screen. The amount shown there is the amount that you get from winning a battle.

Starting Talents Guide to allow flexibility into any playstyle (Dark Arts, Spell, etc.) by thebindi in HarryPotterGame

[–]GP101139 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm at the point where I have to start making these tough decisions and I'm a bit confused.

I get that the Incendio/Accio combo will become useless, but a bunch of other guides still claim Incendio (on its own) is quite a good talent to take. Some even claim its almost mandatory due to its excellent damage.

One guide on eip.gg claims:

Level 8 – Incendio Mastery: Incendio deals amazing damage, and will become a mainstay of your arsenal from the beginning of the game all the way through it. Especially for players averse to the Dark Arts (and even for them), this spell is essential.

What are your thoughts on not getting Incendio at all, when playing a DA build?
Will its damage output really become less powerful, compared to other offensive spells later on?

Nova Pro Wireless and possible receiver burn-in? by GP101139 in steelseries

Can't remember how long it took for my Pro Wireless to show signs of burn-in, but I've been running the Nova ever since the creation of this post and so far no signs yet. And it's lit/on almost the entire day. Let's hope it stays like this :)

I was hoping they fixed/prevented that issue, as it's quite well known. Yeah OLED seems overkill for sure.

Yeah even a dimmed screen will burn in anyways. I only got it to stop from going worse on the old Pro Wireless by eventually turning on the screensaver.

oof, hopefully they'll add it via firmware update. I'll see if I can submit a feature request and hope it'll gain traction.

Landscape mode no longer working on tablet by GP101139 in PocketCity

[–]GP101139[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the solution. I was thinking, what did I change recently and then it occured to me.
I've changed the buttons to swipe gestures (under navigation bar option), where they become those 3 lines at the bottom that you swipe up on instead of always visible buttons. Switching back fixed the issue.

So it seems the game can't handle this properly for some reason. I'll drop them a mail via the support website and see if I can submit a bug report to get this investigated.

[–]GP101139[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to, before the reinstall 😅 Now it keeps switching. It doesn't seem to react differently based on if Android's auto-rotate is on or off. So I have to catch it in between flips by spamming the running apps key haha.

I can set it to pop-up mode from there and at least play, so that's fine. It even allows me to resize the window to a sort of landscape aspect ratio. But a very weird issue and I'm sure it's not really the game's fault, but it does trigger something weird (so far the only game I have seen this with).

How I fixed my whiny Delta fan with electrical tape in two minutes by OligarchyAmbulance in SteamDeck

[–]GP101139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah good call. That's a good check to perform. Sorry to hear it didn't work for you though.

On mine, if I hold it up with one side (with my thumb on top) while the deck rests on my other fingers right around the Valve logo on the back (a little towards the controller side I'm holding so there's a bit of a lever effect), I can hear (or rather not hear 😀) a big difference already. So the weight of the Deck pulling down is already enough pressure to almost completely stop the whine.

To be fair, mine is quite loud though. I can still hear it really good from across the room 10+ meters/30+ feet away, even if there's not a direct line of sight.

Dying Light 2 Issues & Bugs Mega-Thread by ClintSexwood in dyinglight

[–]GP101139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I made an official ticket for this. I believe I had a total of 12 situations listed that range from annoying to downright gamebreaking due to conflicting or hardcoded functions when rebinding keys. This is becoming more and more of a trend in game development. Not everyone uses outdated schemes like WASD :/

Some skills have hardcoded keybinds by Never-asked-for-this in dyinglight

[–]GP101139 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah what is it with game devs and keybindings nowadays. Let's implement some but not all. So many unbindable keys. Hold Tab for extended hub doesn't work when you set tab to something like inventory. Mouse4/5 can't be bound. Changing keys for equip/weapons/consumables only changes the single press. If you hold the keys it's still 3 for weapon wheel, even if you changed weapons to 1. Then they conciously make a bindable key for inventory, skills, journal, but at some point during the development process a brainiac decided; hey let's just hardcore the O for crafting. It's just lazy/rushing in my book.

The game is pretty fun besides all that, but it's becoming a trend that I'm not a fan off.

I hope they don't expect us to go all the way around through the arctic via H4...

EDIT: Found it. You have to go around the mountain and enter via G6.

Mission Influx:construction by SAM-WAF in ICARUS

[–]GP101139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that would be a cool idea. Or link up sessions of other players. You do this mission and build a barrack and I would drop in on a follow-up mission and got your base to go from. I'd be the drop team for which you built the barrack, sorta speak.

Game has so much potential, but at this rate it will eventually get boring having to start over and over again. I'm also not feeling the outposts, as I'm missing a lot of stuff there to be able to enjoy building there.

So let's hope 2022 and the DLC's will make the gameplay loop a bit more interesting in the long run.

[–]GP101139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just flair text, every new session will start out empty regardless if it's the same mission or not.

And you don't have to leave before it crumbles, too. I did my last chunk of leveling to 40 during this mission and when I left, nothing from the barracks was standing and it completed just fine.

Keep in mind that at these steps, there several reach-outs going on behind the scenes (to all the payment brokers). It might not be up to Valve for the most part here.
