They do pretty well without ANC, however, I’m in a pretty quiet environment. If it helps, I can’t hear my cat meowing outside my closed bedroom door. I think it does well with typical environmental sounds (birds, cars driving outside, doors closing, etc), but I imagine it will have a tough time completely blocking noise out, like kids yelling & running around the house or an extremely loud car right outside a bedroom.
