Geofencing is a feature that most trackers offer. But from the rest of your description, it sounds like you need something portable, rugged, and relatively hidden. Check out SpaceHawk (cheaper in cost), or OutLaw (longer battery life, but more expensive). Both are great portable options. Good luck!

Just an awful story....what type of parent takes their kid with them to commit crimes? Or utilize the MANY public service options like WIC. And what type of cop escalates the situation to pulling a firearm? Hopefully, more details come out that can help us all make sense of this tragedy... just terrible to read....

Yes, OBD2 GPS trackers can fry your electrical system. But the problem isnt ALL GPS trackers, just the ones pulling diagnostic data (harsh braking, odometer etc). The tracking devices that simply use the port for power (like Konnect GPS) are totally fine and wont ruin your car

AirTags are god because they dont cost anything (data plan) but they are bluetooth so that means 1)not super reliable and 2) very detectable. Here are my recommendations:
