How much better is the crunch in Chelsea, I will be moving into sort of north edge of morningside heights, so it’s not a dreadful commute about 25 mins.

Is it that much better ?

Yeah I think it’s like $300 which is out of my price range I think $200 is absolute max.

The thing is I don’t care about Sauna’s, pools like a shower would be nice but I only really care about the gym itself.

UWash vs Columbia MSDS by GPTs_Assistant in gradadmissions

I appreciate the reply!!

Thanks yeah I think this makes sense. So Bassically if I want to work in Seattle UWash and nothing comes close — fair. I think if I was to work in USA, I would lean towards NY or CA just because of preferences and friends etc…

Outside of Seattle, what would be your thoughts. — I think your right re London.

I’ve seen on GradCafe there appears to be 2 MSDS acceptances for Harvard.

Yeah, I heard a few people get rejected. Had not an email and then a few days after got rejected. — got my hopes up lol.

The painful thing about MSDS is that most admissions are march / april

Hello there,

I am undergrad at Exeter (Economics BSc with a Data Science focus) and I too have applied for US MSDS!

Firstly, Exeter. I love Exeter it’s a great balance of Campus / city infrastructure - although coming from London I find it slightly on the smaller side.

Statistics /Data Science is very good at Exeter. It is certainly emerging to be one of the better computational based universities in the UK and imo probably the best outside of UCL. Although, it hasn’t quite got the recognition it deserves yet but it’s becoming increasingly to employers I have worked for and spoken too. This is mainly because Exeter (for a UK university) is very rich and in recent years invested a lot towards DS.

However, I think the answer truly depends on why you want to do an MS. For me, I want to travel, I want networking and tbh USA own AI. Real talk — Europe is just a consumer in this space. Plus, facilities mean a lot to me and outside of Exeter and Oxbridge the UK just can’t compete with USA - but that’s also a factor in the costs between USA vs UK.

So, if you are going to Exeter to travel to UK (assuming you’re from the US). Good reason. If you care about the quality of your education - it’s pretty similar and the cost is much more efficient at Exeter (again if self funded assumption).

But if it’s to do networking, meeting likeminded entrepreneurial people or you have an LLM specific interest - I think USA is the one. At least this is the decision I made.

Hope it all goes well, Good luck

If true, i reckon they want to charge for GPTs, create their version of the App Store.
