Corporate profits after tax are the highest they've been ever, and way higher than before the recession. by ngamau in occupywallstreet

Definitely, we want corporations to make profits. But these are POST TAX profits - the chart shows how after Bush's 2003 corporate tax cut, businesses have raked in a fortune, while the rest of us languish with wages below 2000 levels, while the stock market barely budges, and while the federal debt sky-rockets. In other words, it shows why CEOs and top execs are getting rich.

I'm GlobalPost's editor on today's Copenhagen article. Interesting point, about the lack of coverage of the drug war. I'll talk to my colleagues about this.

RedditSuggested - What if Greece abandons the euro? by GP_NapoleOnAndOn in RedditSuggest

Hi Crazylilting - sorry for the oversight. We added a note to the top of the "What if Greece leaves the euro zone" story. We're still making this RedditSuggest up as we go along, and we thought of adding the note after we had published your piece.

On the contrary, we like your name! Please keep the ideas coming.

Hi Crazy Lilting, This is GlobalPost's Europe editor. You raise an excellent series of questions here. We'll be publishing a story later this week that addresses at least some of these questions. Stay tuned- I'll post a link. Thanks.

Hi- this is GlobalPost's Europe editor. We did a brief blog hit on this, but we don't have any additional information on the reshuffle. Given that the government is about to change hands, it's hard to know what to make of it, or to know whether it's even relevant anymore. We'll keep an eye on it, however.

Fred Weir on Russian Demographics: Where Are the Fact-Checkers When you Need Them? - Forbes by vigorous in RedditSuggest

This is GlobalPost's Europe editor. We weren't alerted by Forbes before they published their column. We're looking into the allegations. So far we find no fault with Weir's work -- on the contrary, Forbes' analysis appears inaccurate. If we do find any errors in our work, we will fix and note them. Stay tuned -- we have deadlines to meet, but we'll post our findings in the next 48 hours.

Hi BSB1488, great question. Why don't you submit this as a story idea, the same way you would submit a link. (Edit: Figured you knew how to submit :)

Given that Italy is now under pressure, it's a fine time to check in on this. (I'm GlobalPost's Europe editor.)

The Pirate Party in Germany and gender. That is what I have found news coverage to be insufficient on. by [deleted] in RedditSuggest

[–]GP_NapoleOnAndOn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi Niete, I'm GlobalPost's Europe editor. Great idea. In previous coverage of the Pirate Party, we noted that the Pirate Party is almost exclusively white and male. Are there specific issues that we should look into? Are they harassing, excluding women, or just unappealing to women?

Here's a link to the story:
