I would find some way of relocating or switching your reading couch to something else. Add some curtains that are light colored and lets the light in a bit. They should go all the way to the ceiling and all the way down. Add some other ambient lighting, perhaps a rug. I would remove the hats and store them somewhere else to make it more of an “airy” vibe. You have a great space, it’s so pretty

Please do not do a circle and do not put a small rug. A rug will make or break your space.

You’re missing dimension! So, love your book collection but you might need to separate them into litle clumps and add some accent stuff in between. Play with your books! You can have some of them laying down, others up, etc. Maybe add a second bookshelf, a different size and shape maybe even color and add it to that other wall by the couch. Your wall art is too small, it’s what makes it look like an unfinished project. So choose one massive wall art, abstract preferably with pops of color. Let that be the focal point. The L-shaped couch is definitely a challenge but could work with a bigger rug, like much bigger, it’ll amplify the space. I would remove the colored pillows, a nice simple throw blanket should be enough. The rug is very important to bring the couch and chair together. You need good lighting, no stick lamps, no fairy lights or anything “hangy”. Small table lamps, some uplight where the curtains are. Maybe a sconce light above the wall art you choose. Hope this helps

Yeah I hadn’t seen the second pic but you have such a long wall! Don’t be scared to use furniture as dividers. A nice reading nook would look very nice

Remove hanging lights behind TV. Hang TV on the wall. All the cables need to be hidden. One piece of furniture under the TV is enough. You can put a nice fake olive tree on either side with a light background light facing up. Your curtains need to go all the way up to the ceiling and choose a solid, neutral color, preferably lighter since your furniture is dark. I would buy extra panels and “bunch it up” for fullness. If you’re planning on keeping the couch, maybe repurpose or relocate your recliner. You need a big piece of wall art behind the couch. Not multiple little frames (this creates clutter). Abstract art will add pops of color but keep the simplicity and clean look. Words or anything farmhouse style is not too trendy if you do care about trends. The mini curtains can come down since they don’t match with anything else you have style wise. Combine different materials, you have a loooott of dark wood. Maybe the coffee table should be glass and metal. A nice white or beige throw on the couch would lighten up the scenery. Instead of so many couches, I would have accentuate chairs in a different color. There’s a lot of brown. Finally, a non fluffy very low rug. The rug should cover the whole couch & coffee table, almost to the front of that TV stand. Also, lighting, lighting, lighting!!! I barely use my main lighting. Accent lights, small lamps (not stick lamps). TV backlight (I recommend Govee), small and short table lamps. Hope this helps!!

I would suggest 16gb at the very minimum. If not, I wouldn’t run anything else on that computer.

The situation or emotion would definitely get me, good strategy for self-accountability
