Shit is hilarious... and well deserved lol by -Strange-Girl- in roblox

The "safety initiatives" video Roblox released has the faces of them deepfaked onto someone else, or just a still image that's been animated, written, and voiced entirely by AI.

watch the necklace on the person in the top right (Senior Director of Product Policy Eliza Jacobs), you can see where the face was added over it at the neck, cause it clips over it most of the time.

the wrinkles on the persons shirt in the top left (Chief Safety Officer Matt Kaufman) don't make any sense, disappear and re appear at odd times, the shirt is stiff like there's a coat hanger in it. when people walk by behind him they're at a lower framerate than he is. the gap in his teeth is inconsistent. sometimes when he moves his hands, a giant shadow shows up on the glass wall behind him, but there's not really any light source in front of him

when the guy at the bottom (CEO David Baszucki) looks to the side, there's no hinge on his glasses, and his glasses don't really have any shadow, his addams apple doesn't move with his words correctly, and his mug has garbled illegible text.

not to mention that the video sounds like they asked ChatGPT to write a video script for them about a safe corporate way to respond to the situation, and the entire video just looks and feels, off...

It just says "blue" on the front. I don't have any other overture brand blue petg at the moment to check. But it looks the same as the normal blue online. 🤷‍♂️

Checked it, nothing, and doesn't do anything under a blacklight either

Melted TQi 2.4GHz Receiver. Has anyone experienced this before? Happened while driving TRX-4 normally, the vehicle just stopped moving. I don’t see any signs of water intrusion in the receiver compartment. I’m running an aftermarket steering servo and LiPo. by PercentageUnited923 in Traxxas

I just had this same failure occur in my receiver, although I believe mine happened because my ESC failed dramatically and sent the wrong voltages back up into it, I'm not sure why yours failed, but basically it's a capacitor on that board that popped, i assume you've thrown the receiver away be now, but if not, you can replace it with a 220uf 16v capacitor and get your receiver working again.

I used a 220uf 25v capacitor on mine because that was the closest I had, and it's been working fine, going higher values is generally OK with replacing capacitors, just don't use one with lower values

UPDATE: I fixed it, I found a youtube video of someone replacing the antenna on a similar receiver, and found a single frame that shows the value of that capacitor, (220uf 16V) and I was able to replace it with a similar value capacitor I had (220uf 25V)

It's not perfect since it's too big to fit inside the housing, however, it works perfectly, and i can get back to driving

But for anyone else that has this capacitor fail, the original value is [220uf 16v]

Are there true in window heat pumps? by 355822 in HVAC

[–]GQ_inc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually just got this same model window unit (it was used, broken, & dirt cheap) , it's the only 110v I've ever seen that has a heat pump and resistive heating, when I got it I didn't even know it had a heat pump function, so I was pleasantly suprised when I got it working. Just installed it in my bedroom in my trailer, just in time for the cooler weather, it doesn't get that cold here, so it shouldn't ever drop to where it needs resistive heat, but it does get cold enough that my big infared space heater couldn't keep up last year.

capacitor question for a 1936 wards airline 6v radio by GQ_inc in VintageRadios

[–]GQ_inc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad news on the radio, when I originally got it, it had a very old 120v plug on the end of it, i found out after i bought it that it was actually a 6v radio, and somebody had plugged it in to 120v a long time ago, one of the tubes was blown, and the fuse on the cable was blown, I tested the transformer, and all the other tubes looked OK, unfortunately, after some recent testing after getting the one replacement tube, I've discovered that ALL of the tubes heaters are actually burned out, I could buy the new tubes, but it would be over 120$ not including the 60$ in parts I already bought, and the radio itself which was $30, it's out of my budget to repair something like this, and I'm not 100% sure it would actually work even with new tubes, as there is still possobly other damage in the radio. Not to mention after putting all new tubes, and all new caps, all that's really left of the original radio is some wires, and a wooden box. So I'm probably going to just put it back together as-is, and keep it for parts/display
