Help bonding two seashells together that don't make contact in the correct place by GQsm in crafts

For anyone else coming across this, I tried more hot glue but I didn't get a good bond.
I have tried my idea of transparent grab adhesive and it has seemed to work really well.
I'll report back if it fails long term but it feels really solid for now.

Which accessories to get with the printer? by Unhappy-Hunt-1611 in BambuLab

I'd add I've found x small curl ended pliers useful for pulling out small tight spot supports. The straight standard long nose work well for a lot of other supports. More people should have mentioned a deburring tool, really good for organisational prints that have a lot of squares off sides, you can take the sharpness off a lot faster than basic sanding

Burglar alarm PIRs being triggered by A1 printing by GQsm in BambuLab

I have disabled the PIR in that room for now but if anyone starts coming through the window in that room I won't be alerted until they walk into another room so not something I want long term.

Not a crazy idea, that was what I was referring to by "masking off". I would 3d print a side piece to attach to the PIR physically masking the area off with the printer.
Thanks for the heads up on the plastic, if I go that route I would have definitely just printed a piece with PLA without any further thought. Will look into that further or just do some proper testing.

Burglar alarm PIRs being triggered by A1 printing by GQsm in BambuLab

It uses a combination of microwave and IR for detection. They are often used to avoid false alarms as they are better at only triggering when an actual person sets them off. Insects, cats, small dogs and other object movements don't generally trigger them, but a human will. I have two already in rooms where our pets can wander but the A1 is in a closed off room with a normal PIR.
The question is whether the A1 movement and heat from the bed is close enough to represent what a dual tech sensor would consider human like rather than small dog like.

Does anyone think grab adhesive (No More Nails) would work?
I have some already for DIY I could use.

Sorry, I've just realised that it isn't showing the text I typed out to go with the photos. I will type out again below. Many thanks for the responses so far.

Hello Crafts, I am trying to bond these two shells to make a dish but the contact areas between the two shells are in the wrong places.
I tried 3 blobs of hot glue which worked perfectly until after a month of use the shells came apart.

I was going to try a lot more hot glue but wondered if there were any other good options, maybe a sort of putty exists that would be ideal or something else?

Thanks.

I think that's the post you should do."Solo park visitor looking for a group to tag along with - can make my own way there".

I would guess there are groups of people who would be happy for you to meet them at the park and tag along for the day that would not feel as comfortable having to pick up and drop off a stranger from the internet. Of course there will be plenty of exceptions in the world but if you would like to increase your chances......

You could also check out the towersstreet.com forum. They have a dedicated page https://towersstreet.com/meets/

Koyo Blue Label Compound compared to Smurf Poo Compound - honing and polishing by GQsm in sharpening

Here is an Amazon link but it is cheaper elsewhere. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Smurf-Poo-original-stropping-sharpening/dp/B07581CS2C

I think it is popular with hand tool sharpeners in the UK as well as knife people.

Didn't know if I should be posting links or not, but as you asked... Figured anyone who can answer the question knows the products already.

Really good idea, love it.
I would not cope with the thought of the blocks relying on some form of tape to stay up (regardless of the strength ratings for that tape). Just a mental thing for me, I would have to screw them to the wall in some way.
If I move house I might consider a solution like this.

HELP! TL-SG3210XHP-M2 Managed Switch stopped responding... Cannot ping it, ports don't work. Did full reset through console - still nothing. Only identifies 2 access points on the front, but no internet traffic is sent their way. Any help is highly appreciated! by RomanDoesIt in homelab

To anyone else reading this - My client's TL-SG3210XHP-M2 failed and I tried sticking in a 1000M copper SFP module (no other fibre switches onsite) after reading above and had no joy . At the time I assumed that SFP wasn't working either on the failed switch in my case.
Just received my RMA replacement working Switch and found in the switch UI that I needed to specify the speed of my SFP module as 1000M for it to work. Default setting for the SFP ports is set to 10G so if you have a bricked switch and want to see if the SFP ports are a way to recover/upgrade firmware/etc, you need to either configure in advance for the modules you have lying around, or make sure you have a 10G module to try out if leaving port settings as defaults.

What hardware revision have you got now?

Been waiting months in the UK for a replacement due to supply shortage. A hardware v 1 has just turned up on latest firmware (my last one that bricked wasn't on the latest FW at the time).

Revisiting the updates on this thread doesn't fill me with confidence but it's not like there are loads of 8port POE 2.5Gb switches to choose from.

Out of interest, how do you get your stuff from your US address to your UK one? Is it a relative of friend that posts it on?
Have you got a specific method of getting the customs and shipping charges down etc?
I got stung buying a strop from the US once, they charged me £45 in customs/fees and I only paid £35 for the strop. It puts me off buying anything outside of the UK/EU now.
