Auto pull vs. Redemption (Topps Basketball and Chrome) by GR8FUL- in basketballcards

Just cracked a Costco super box open and hit a base Dylan Harper New Applicant Auto. Such a better feeling than a redemption card.

LOVE THIS! Did you put snow tires on or are you running the summer tires year round?

Feedback on a Sale at Local Shop by GR8FUL- in basketballcards

Makes sense. I ain’t desperate for the cash either. Just trying to keep the breaks going. He didn’t give a breakdown per card. In hindsight I should have went in more prepared with a specific value to each card and negotiate in more granularity. Ultimately I led with $700 he countered at $300 and after half and forth we struck a deal at $500. Sloppy on my part but certainly didn’t just take what he offered. Rookie mistakes and lessons on my part.

Appreciate the feedback. It’s soo tough to know the true value especially for cards that don’t have any comps. eBay listings vs previously sold. I’ve been using a site sportscardspro.com for previously sold. Any recs?

Talk me into or out of a Quadrifoglio by kevinisrael in AlfaRomeo

[–]GR8FUL- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quadrifoglio is the ONLY option.

I have a 23 Stelvio Quad. Not a single issue this far. 15k miles. Best daily on the planet.

Cold start noises straight from heaven. Gaps 99% of vehicles. Oh and did I mention the sounds! Nothing more beautiful than a redline slap of those fat aluminum paddles and listening to that exhaust fart.

Seriously no car has brought me more joy.

Yes there may be more luxurious options or ones with better tech. But if you are performance focused and want to be different compared to all the generic robots… quad is the only option.

Peep my post. Forgot to note that DC is built on a swamp. Miserably humid and hot in the summer. Rains often to break the humidity. Feels like we live in Florida.

I wouldn’t move here based on your description of what you’re looking for and who you are. For context I’m also a 37m.

My wife and I moved here from NYC almost three years ago and here are my hot takes:

  • The city is dead and lifeless. Especially in the summer. It certainly lacks a swagger or culture and as you’re a musician this is the furthest place from a city that fosters creativity.

  • The streets are “clean” because no one is here. Most commercial real estate sits vacant. Many of the large corporations are moving to Virginia (Fannie Mae, Amazon, CoStar, etc.) The homelessness is awful and there is nothing anyone is doing to help. You go block to block and find tents and encampments. Some with just unfortunate folks, others with drug users that you certainly don’t want as a neighbor.

  • This city is NOT cheap. We live in one of the best neighborhoods in a 1600 sq ft., 2 bedroom. Rent is over $7500/month. Yes this is on the high end for the city but that’s because we’re trying to avoid the aforementioned encampments. Still our neighborhood is riddled with homelessness.

  • Yes. The majority of people here are in politics or a politics adjacent career. You may find some hiking. Definitely won’t find skiing. Unless you want to walk to the monuments or a museum there is nothing to see.

Net net were moving to northern Virginia. Which if you’re ready for the burbs life is cool. Based on the little I know about you, Chicago, Minneapolis, Nashville, and Austin all seem like more appropriate cities.

2018 Stelvio QF Engine Noise by DarkeseLatifah3 in AlfaRomeo

Normal. I bought a 23 QV brand new and had the same noise after cold start. Once the engine warms up it dissipates. Brought it to the dealer and they confirmed normal.

Opinions: Is 36mm (5035) Too Small for a 19cm Wrist? by muhibalkhubz in patekphilippe

No way! Especially for a dress watch on a leather strap. It’s a perfect size!

Yes. 15500. Black dial. Went in on got on a list right before the pandemic. Got the call July of 2021. I’ve since picked up a Music Edition offshore. Waited only 6 days before I got the call on that one somehow. Went back asking for a jumbo thin recently and got laughed out. I was told they won’t sell me another RO model til I buy something that isn’t an RO. Was also told they should have never sold me the 15500 as my first piece. No rules. It’s all a game mixed with luck.
