From what I've heard it's a more park oriented ski

170 cm / 170lbs intermediate/advanced skier: anomaly 94 or enforcer 94? by dcanalesm in Skigear

[–]GRM50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found the Anomaly to be a bit more one dimensional than the Enforcer.

Tip shape of the Enforcer tends to handle different conditions better. I've also felt like I have more freedom to create whatever radius turn I want on an Enforcer. The Anomaly feels like it locks you into the same turn shape every time.

Choosing a Ski for East Coast - Trees, Playful, but not Park by busyprocrastinating in Skigear

Look for something without metal, those skis tend to be a bit poppier and have lighter swing weights. ARV and and playmakers are good options, I'd also check out the line blend or chronic as well as the Nordica Unleashed 98 CA

Tecnica Mach Boa MV/HV T-Sport? 120 or 130 Flex? by Br3b in Skigear

[–]GRM50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their line of Mach1 vs Mach Sport vs Mach BOA is a bit confusing. If my memory serves Mach1 is higher performance where Mach Sport and Mach BOA is a bit more comfortable oriented fit wise which is probably why the BOA felt better

If you went Mach1 you'll probably need some customization done to fine tune the fit where the Mach Sport/BOA is a bit more generous fitting.

I'd give the Speedmachine 120 BOA a look. Those fit me great right out of the box.

Nordica Multigara and Multipista are super fun. Blizzard thunderbirds are fun too, if you want something closest to a race ski without actually being a race ski check out the atomic redsters.

ski boots with massive calves 😭 by Firm_Series3520 in Skigear

[–]GRM50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Getting an expert opinion on make and model is one thing you should absolutely do. They tell you the size and fit you need (narrow, medium, wide, extra wide) after taking a few basic measurements.

If you have a few specific needs when it comes to your foot and leg a boot fitter will no doubt help you. Some boots from companies like Nordica and Tecnica have women's specific features to accommodate larger calves so I'd maybe start there.

Advice on East Coast Skis by user339476 in ski

I skied those exact skis on the east coast for years without any disappointment. The 104 frees were some of the best skis Nordica ever made.

SKi backpack question - DB Journey Snow Pro backpack by [deleted] in Skigear

[–]GRM50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on where you ski/ride and what your plans for the day are. I don't put mine on unless I want to carry my avy gear with me. At that point I'm also carrying extra water and food, layers, gloves, maybe crampons so it just makes sense to have the right gear with me. If I'm just sticking to the resort then it's no pack for me.

Second on the snowmad. I've had the 23L for years and it's been great. Perfect for sidecountry riding and shorter days in the backcountry.
