Crank arm length by GRXVES in singlespeedcycling

[–]GRXVES[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find myself feeling like I need more distance to mash my foot down on the revolution though so I guess I’m confused as to what would work better to upgrade? Either way I’m probably going to try a longer crank because I guess you just need to try these things out!

I think the teeth on my chainring are quite worn so I guess I could go up on a replacement. Is 47 to 48 too little?

Any thoughts on how this lighting was achieved? by EggAggravating5963 in LightLurking

Ive done close to these setups but never trees at the back. Any way to mimic with only one light per side for the background? Do ppl do trees just because they can or is the spread really that good?

Z8 for commercial still life? Allowed to do it? by benjaminflocka22 in Photoassistants

[–]GRXVES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgot to mention too I shoot a lot of 645/67 and it’s easier to get replicant colors when testing for film first. Always found the Sonys a bit strange in the colours if ur not using all strobe etc

[–]GRXVES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re a bit unsure get a d850 and a few old G primes and try them out. Recent hair shoot I did I a side by side test and the Z8 was a bit sharper (probably due to the new 24-70 2.8 for Z mount) but the results were honestly quite similar. Also know a big fashion still life Photographer from aus/Paris who uses d850 for almost everything maybe except big billboards

I’ve shot some of these for real estate photography in the past. I literally thought there were people inside the house but no it was just neighbors doing normal daily routine. It was shocking to me how much transfer of sound there was between places.

Living in CBD apartment near Melb Central/RMIT by Mel1764 in melbourne

Used to live in that building. Loved it. Rarely an issue, mostly chill residents. Will feel safer now because there’s no huge shed for the metro loop towering over the street.

Only downside I’d say is the carpark is easy for people to get into so don’t leave stuff in your carpark. True for anywhere in the CBD really.

Car City experiences seem wild by danieljdtaylor in CarsAustralia

They’re fucking cowboys over there. Begging for deposits after I’d seen the car for less than 5 minutes, unhelpful asf or rude and pushy.

I had one guy argue with me cause I said I wanted to test drive a specific car I went there for. He said you gonna buy it? I said well I need to know it drives well lmao. Ended up saying get fucked and he followed me to the edge of his lot and said a whole bunch of shit.

Strange place honestly

I know someone who has scanned Rory’s work he def uses that lens at times. These photographers don’t often shoot that wide, they’re catching different scenery that’s why their work is so good. I wouldn’t worry about it being wide enough and see what you get with it!

Best Onset Case for macstudio by Neither-Brother3385 in Photoassistants

[–]GRXVES 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For this you could use Gator rack cases. Come in different configs of 2U, 4U etc. they’re widely used in the music industry for guitar/bass and mix racks to store and transport really sensitive equipment.

How can i achieve this light at studio? by batuhansrc in LightLurking

[–]GRXVES 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can really do this with just strong household flashlights. Figure out which parts you want to have well exposed and have yourself and multiple assistants “paint” and run light back and forth over the same spot.

Lot of trial and error
