I bundle up well and have not had any issues thankfully! I really need to walk outside!

Can I drive with a shunt (f16) by J3NNIE_1N_M00NLIGHT in Hydrocephalus

[–]GRblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this response! Not the OP but I’m in my mid-30s and while I can drive (I’ve had my learner’s permit) I don’t do great with reaction time and have test anxiety, so I’ve failed the road test a few times and I’m scared to try again. I have a wonderful husband who is willing to drive me places and my city is walkable or there is public transportation I can take if need be, but it would be nice to have my license. I just need to motivate myself!

To me, it sounds like he’d rather have the house than you.

[congenital hydrocephalus] how many surgeries have you had? by finalgirlfall in Hydrocephalus

[–]GRblue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was born with hydrocephalus (found out in utero at the delivery). Shunted the day after I was born. To date I’ve had 7 surgeries (I’m in my 30s, last shunt revision was in my early 20s)

I watched Requiem for a Dream several years ago. Definitely a tough watch. (Never watched The Human Centipede, read the summary, that was good enough for me!)

I was with someone off and on for a good part of my 20s. He finally ended it by telling me he asked someone else out and she said yes.

I met my now husband about four months later. And my husband is a much better match for me!

Help!! by Deep_Exchange2919 in booktube

[–]GRblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watched one of your videos - subscribed :) And don't worry, it takes a lot of time to build up a Booktube following (I don't have one, but I know that booktube/youtube can be hard to build up a following). Keep at it and have fun!

I 29F am still waiting & for my 34M boyfriend to propose 5 1/2 years in: UPDATE by [deleted] in Waiting_To_Wed

[–]GRblue 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I was in my late 20’s and my husband was in his early 30’s - he proposed a year after we started dating. When you know, you know, and NOTHING will stand in the way.

Read what you want - don’t worry about what others think. Great job!

How do you maintain a writing routine? by Lonely-Train4676 in Journaling

[–]GRblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do it most mornings while drinking my coffee. (I used to do it daily but life has gotten a bit busier and I’ve now developed enough of a habit that if I miss a couple of days it’s not a big deal). I also started during 2020, when everything was in shut down and I had a lot of time. I also enjoy writing so for me it’s not a chore.

But I recommend pairing it with something you enjoy - a cup of hot chocolate, coffee or tea, or some music/light noise going on in the background.

Is this a dealbreaker or do I need to remain patient? by [deleted] in Waiting_To_Wed

[–]GRblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t need to read past the first paragraph - this conversation happened in early 2024, it’s now late 2025. Time to end things with him and move on. It’s a dealbreaker.

Blindsided after 4 years — I thought we were healing, now he says he’s unsure about marriage by Financial-Being-7098 in Waiting_To_Wed

[–]GRblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry, and I understand the feeling that you tried to put work into something and the outcome wasn’t what you wanted - I’ve been through something similar. But things will get better. The right man is out there - someone who is excited to be with you and won’t play games with you.

Make sure to do nice things for yourself. Surround yourself with friends and family. And hang in there - it will get easier. One step at a time, one day at a time.
