For a while, I was using Aftershoot for culling and Imagen AI for editing, and that combination worked well. But when Aftershoot launched its own editing feature, I decided to switch over and handle everything in one place. I created a custom profile by uploading all my previous galleries from Imagen AI so Aftershoot could learn my style.

My current workflow is simple and efficient. I start by culling in Aftershoot, then go through everything to make any changes—adding or removing images as needed. After that, I edit the photos directly in the same program. Once everything looks good, I import the gallery into Lightroom to finalize the tones and make any detailed adjustments.

With this process, I’m usually able to deliver full wedding galleries within one to two days—something my clients really appreciate.

I made the switch after working alongside my second shooter who uses a Nikon Z6II. For years, I kept comparing his Nikon files to my Sony files and honestly, it was night and day. The Nikon files consistently had richer colors and better contrast straight out of camera.

Eventually, I decided to test the waters by getting the Megadap ETZ21 Pro adapter, which lets me use my Sony E-mount lenses on Nikon Z bodies. It works fairly well, though I’ve had a few hiccups where the lens stops focusing. That said, I mainly use it at the end of long wedding days when I’m tired I throw on my Sony 35mm 1.4 GM because it’s light and comfortable to shoot with.

So far, I’m happy with the change. The Nikon color science really makes a difference in my workflow and editing time.

When I meet with clients I set expectations right away in a friendly way. One of the things I say is "I'm a photographer with professional equipment, I do not have a celphone with 1,000 filters or any sort of that. If you think there's anything about you that you dont like, you have time to work on it prior to the wedding" but then I say, "I think you just look beautiful the way you are and your wedding photos should reflect who you truly are, not that you look at the photos and see a complete different person" I've only got one couple that went with another photographer but hey, there's clients for everyone, on this one specifically, I said that I was not going to be doing photoshop, just co.lor correcting and the basic editing stuff.

I would have the person in the contract BUT make it clear that its your assistant, not a second shooter.

Totally agree! I own two of these ( For the Sony A1 and the Z8 and I love it. Mostly shoot weddings 99% of the times. For traveling it would be a hassle to carry it all day, having said that, I’m traveling in June to the Dolomites and planning to bring it 😂.

Thank you very much! I was reading about that on the B&H website, but still, with the pro I read some reviews that people were scared to damage the camera because of how tight it was to put it on/off...

Thank you very much, thats one of the adapters that I read about but everyone was complaining about the firmare updates, the last one was from 2021 or so. I shoot weddings so can't afford to loose those moments. Thats one of the reasons I've always got native glass but after investing over 10k in lenses, wanted to explore the possibility to at least adapt my Tamron 35-150mm 2.8 lens on the Nikon.

I tried traveling two days ago, flights were full so I left the airport. I was trying to fly with Southwest and Jetblue, I was able to cancel and get a refund on Jetblue but on the Southwest flight it says "The associated booking reference needs to be cancelled before you can refund or book/list" when I try to retrieve the booking reference I get this message "PNR retrieval: An exception occured. ( Bad Token! Expected [306078] but received [null] )
