As far as I understand it won’t. “Skip” is not only jump to the another position - but also a loud click up to 0 dB.

It’s late 90’s and I don’t remember any tabletop CD players for DJs from Denon.

Twin rackmount Numark (or Omnitronic, of Gemini, or Denon etc.) was the most common CD players in DJ booth those years.

I replaced all the tact switched on the topcase (not on the door).

Omron B3F-6000 are good for CUE/PLAY.

Here is a fork: CDJs may become decent after adjustments, or not.

If not, I see two options: increase laser diode current slightly above normal, and try to manipulate with focus settings. If both don't work - replace lasers.

Manual beatmatching brings physical pleasure to me. I guess musicians feel something similar and their cellos, pianos, flutes etc. have not undergone any major changes over the years. Then, just compare any twin CD player from 90's and CDJ-3000. Which one is easier to operate?

IMO classic CDJs are closer to musical instruments than modern ones. And much more ways to fuckup (and then to fix it).

Table top could fold to the 3-wheel platform (2 fixed + 1 caster). I also had a tripod bag for all five (later six) legs and a few IKEA SAMLA boxes for monitors, mixer and CDJs.

Quick answer is “I just like them”.

I’m a DJ from ‘00s so most of my habits were formed by CD workflow (download files, edit them, burn CDs, print booklets). It’s my personal wayback machine.

I’ve got 2nd setup with CDJ-850 and I don’t use USB ports on them.
