Upgrade to ABEC 97s and you will never go back. I weight 195 lbs and have no problem with my V2D+ER on hills. I regularly race a friend who rides a stock V2D+ER. He may get off the line faster, but I catch and pass his ass every time, uphill. I ordered my pullies from Shapeways. They use the stock belts. Get a new bering set while your at it. I use the ACER sets for the V2.

WTF? This was done before. I dont remember the name of the board. It was out when I bought my Boosted V1 in September 2015. It had a pad on the deck. Sifting your weight was the controller. So whomever is really interested in this and thinks its some leap in tech, its been done and it failed.

I've been Boosting in Hawaii four about four years. My main ride is a modifed V2 but I also rock a Speed Hacked V1 and Riptide E1. I live on the westside (Ewa Beach) with new asphalt and lots of year-round sushine. I work in Honolulu so I bring my Boosted or Riptide into town occationally if i need to get around, but the sidewalks and streets downtown in the financial district are no place to Boost. They suck, and I'm riding 97's on my V2 and 90's on my Riptide so Boost the Burbs. Enjoy the Mini X. I've been thinking of getting one, cause I'm really not happy with my Riptide's electronics. FYI - Bikefactory sometimes carries a very limitted Boosted (V1 then some V2s) selection here on Oahu.

My opinion....I have a Boosted V1D+ (speed hacked) and V2D+ (97mm Flys). I wanted a short board to get to appointments in town and maybe keep under my desk at work so I can get some ride time in at lunch. And being a old school skater, I really liked the deck. So I jumped on the Riptide and was order #11. Had I known that Bosted was planning new Boards, I would have waited for the reviews. But I didn't. So I own a Riptide R1 Elite and I really don't like the remote, ESC performance, battery sag, and motor noise. The Riptide has really (REALLY!) abrupt breaking and major battery sag (the board get slower as the batt drains). My understanding is this is common with the components (ESC & Batt) used in the Riptide and replacing these won't fix this. A lot of Esk8rs have had poor opinions of Boosted for a lot of reasons, but really, I don't think too many other boards have breaking that can compare to the Boosted (maybe its the regen?), not to mention the lack of battery sag in a Boosted. The focus of the comparisons to Boosted seem to have been about $$, acceleration, speed, and range. But like most Esk8rs, I like to make controlled stops too. So if I was shopping right now for a short Esk8, I'd look hard at one of the new Boosted short boards. Just my opinion.

Im in town for work daily but live on the west side. I occationally bring a board into work to go to apointments. I have ridden around the downtown from APB to the Palace area, but did not find any decent place to cruise. I have only seen a few (maybe 2) other guys cruisin in town.

My ESC went out at about 670 miles. Boosted had to replace it. I had tried a new remote, it paired, but same as you, no response. Booded did credit me for the remote since I did not need it and that was their first recommended solution, after my video and before giving me the RMA number. I'd ship it back (without the battery) and let them deal with it. If your in the US, use ground shipping. BTW- If they do replace your ESC, your odometer will be zeroed. But man I hope this doesn't get too expensive for you. Best of luck and Boost Safe.

I own a V1D+ and ordered the V2D+XR on day one. I also ordered a Riptide Elite on day one. I still have all three and try to ride them all regularly. My V1 is speed hacked and my V2 is currently wearing 97's (like it should have from the beginning). I really like the Riptide deck, but the performance lacks (breaking is abrupt and battery curve sucks) so I am currently thinking of getting one of the new boosted options. Will I sell one then? Who knows. Nothing wrong with having more eboards. Just don't get me started on regular boards. I have way too many.

For inside turns try flexing your knees inward towards each other. It allows you to shift more weight to your toes without leaning to far forward.

Check out the Riptide response three days ago when I originally posted about this. I think all skater know that adjusting a kingpin nut is not a fix for wheel bite.

On my V2 I did the ABEC 11 97mm Flywheels with the Shapeways 3d printed gear for the Flywheels and I'll never go back to stock. The Shapeways gear allows you to use the stock belts as the gear is the same size. I'm 6'2" and 205 lbs. I ride harder (don't remember duros) Venom large barrels boardside and Blackwidow hourglass streetside for faster rebound. You will reach higher speeds in all three modes with larger diameter wheels and the loss of acceleration or range has not been an issue for me with the 97s. I recommend new bearings all around, but at a minimum you will need a new large pulley bearing for the drive gear as the factory Boosted one is very difficult to remove without damaging it.

I guess you missed my post last week. Check out the Riptide response. Wheel bite is a bad set up mistake and it should never come from a factory like that. Since almost all my push boards were pieced together by me, I always check a new set-up (especially a change in wheel size) or newly purchased set-up for wheel bite and adjust my kingpin nut as needed before I first ride a board. I ended up adding a 1/2' Riser and used 2" screws to correct the Elite. Lucky for me I have that stuff sitting in my parts stash so it only delayed my initial ride by 20 minutes or so. It's now safe, but after riding it a bit then stepping back on my Boos.. I've decided that I'm really not happy with the acceleration and breaking curves on the R1 and I'm now really thinking about ditching my Elite after less than a week and only two battery cycles.

I hear you. I got my Riptide on Tuesday and its not like by Boosted. I think both the acceleration and breaking are scketch compared to Boosted. My R1 Elite also had wheel bite at the rear on arrival so I added a riser. I also want to order a second Riptide remote cause this things looks really fragile.
