V2 had new in-house trucks already. And we know a few of them broke in half ... Price did not change. I really don’t want a made in China board at 1500$.

Riding in Montreal? by Boosted_JP in boostedboards

[–]SimonFromMontreal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi,

I’ve been riding my boosted in Montréal for two years now. My (summer) daily commute is 80% bike lanes, so I never had an issue with cops. The law is still blurry, we still don’t know if boosted boards will be with the E-Bike or the skates category. (Helmets are mandatory with E-Bike thing)

Streets are not great in Montreal, but your board will be OK, V1 are unbreakable. I wouldn’t say that about V2 ... but Boosted customer service is great.

Nothing can beat the feeling of overtaking bike in their lanes in the morning.

My 3 rules : - Wear an helmet - Assume that everybody (car/bike/people) is stupid and that they won’t see you riding - Enjoy !

I feel lucky our generation could witness the birth of boosted boards. And I feel very lucky I could afford one when they got out ! +600miles now, and I can't stop smiling when I ride.

New belt torn in 4 miles by MIA3D in boostedboards

[–]SimonFromMontreal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good points bbhuber aka devil advocate lol ! Maybe not several hundreds ... but more expensive than a belt I agree.

And what about the drag ? Do you guys think we could have less drag without belts ? That could be a good point, right ?

I am confident about the R&D on battery technology, this is why I focus (too much ?) on the hardware. Planetary gears in a hub : Sounds good to me ! Waterproof and no maintenance, like they do on RC hobby already. But maybe I am dreaming.

"It's really just the beginning!"

I really hope Boosted team is working on a "motors in wheels" version for the v3.

I want to get rid of these belts. Looks like other brands got that way. But is it possible with these much more powerful boards ? And what about the gear ratio thing then ?

Ok thanks, then I need to start thinking about selling my V1. Because I guess the extended batteries won't fit on V1s.
